I am very saddened by the death of Motown Records Songwriter, and one of the founders of HDH Records; Lamont Dozier.
Lamont Dozier, along with brothers Brian and Eddie Holland; had formed a legendary songwriting team within Motown Records during the early -mid 1960’s. By 1968, the three would leave Motown Records; and founded their own Record company: HDH Records, which also owned and operated the Hot Wax and Invictus Record Labels.
Lamont Dozier, along with brothers Brian and Eddie Holland had left Motown Records; and founded HDH Records because the three wanted more control and greater rewards for the Music Singles and Albums that they produced, released, and sold to the Public and to Radio Stations located in the entire world over, than what their former boss Berry Gordy Jr. were willingly and ably ever provide to them.
A little over a year ago (as of the time of writing this post), Lamont Dozier’s wife Barbara Ullman-Dozier had passed away.
