My recent visit to WTTF-AM in Tiffin, Ohio; which was put on the air in 1959; and is currently owned by BAS Broadcasting, a company that specializes in Small and Medium-sized markets in Ohio and in Indiana.
My comments about WTTF-AM in a Group on the Social Media website Facebook that I belong to for Radio and Television enthusiasts (such as yours truly):
An Evil School Bus Driver, Candace Imbrunone-Barr, Who Is Employed By The Warren Consolidated Schools Public School District That Serves The Detroit Suburbs Of Warren, Michigan; Sterling Heights, Michigan; And Troy, Michigan; Who Views The School Buses That She Drives As Nothing More Than A Machine And A Piece Of Steel, Is Covered In Tattoos, And Is A Supporter Of The Evil Donald Trump.
Candace Imbrunone-Barr, who was hired as a School Bus Driver by Warren Consolidated Schools in 1991; along with her equally evil colleagues and fellow School Bus Drivers Laurie Krause, Sandra Rivera-Blaskay, Penny Orban, Pam Mott, Anita Jacob, Deborah Giganic, Kim Guzowski-Proch, and Cheryl Bacarella-Misiak should all be barred from listening to WDVD-FM in Detroit, WKQI-FM in Detroit, WLNK-FM in Charlotte, North Carolina; WPTE-FM in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia; WCXL-FM in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; WNVZ-FM in Norfolk, Virginia; WEZF-FM in Burlington, Vermont; and WXXX-FM in Burlington, Vermont.
Instead, I would force Candace Imbrunone-Barr and her equally evil colleagues to listen to WJR-FM in Detroit, WLDM-FM and Pre-Dick Purtan WCZY-FM in Detroit, WXYZ-AM in Detroit when it had it’s Adult Contemporary and Talk formats, WBT-FM when it had an automated Easy Listening format with updated forecasts by Clyde “Cloudy” McLean (which Reno Bailey wrote an article about his time being in charge of the Cart Machine at 1 Julian Price Place on the website BT Memories http://btmemories.com/articles/departments/wbt-fm/feeding_beast/feeding_beast.html and when it had it’s literally very pleasant Adult Contemporary format while Bob Lacey returned to Radio after hosting the Charlotte version of “P.M Magazine” on WBTV, and hosting a nightly Radio Program several years earlier on WBT-AM, and had tapped fellow Jefferson-Pilot and WBTV employee Cheryl “Sheri Lynch” Wardlynch to serve as his On-Air Partner; and form the “Bob & Sheri Morning Show” on WBT-FM; when WPTE-FM was WNRN-FM and WJQI-FM and had Easy Listening and Mainstream Adult Contemporary formats; and when WEZF-FM in Burlington, Vermont had a Mainstream Adult Contemporary format.
Moreover, I would also force Candace Imbrunone-Barr and her equally evil colleagues to listen to my good friend Ken Squier’s Radio Station WDEV-AM in Waterbury Vermont (see this earlier post: I Am Deeply Saddened By The Recent Passing (As Of The Time Of Writing This Post) Of My Personal Friend And CBS NASCAR Broadcaster Ken Squier), to WJBK-AM-FM/WDEE-AM-FM when they were owned and operated by Storer Broadcasting, WBT-AM, Cox owned and operated WSB-AM-FM in Atlanta, Georgia; WAGA-AM-FM/WPLO-AM-FM in Atlanta, Georgia when they were owned and operated by Storer Broadcasting and the Broadcasting Division of the Pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough, WSM-AM in Nashville, Tennessee; WGBS-AM-FM in Miami, Florida when they were owned and operated by Storer Broadcasting and by Jefferson-Pilot, WLW-AM in Cincinnati, Ohio; CFRB-AM in Toronto, CFRB-FM/CKFM-FM when it had Easy Listening and Mainstream Adult Contemporary formats; and CFCF-AM and CFCF-FM/CFQR-FM in Montreal.
Additionally, as part of a plot consisting of sweet revenge; I, myself would transport Candace Imbrunone-Barr and her equally evil colleagues on a Commercialized version of a School Bus to force upon them the fact that I am able to drive a School Bus, or a Commercialized version of a School Bus better, safer, and more cautiously than they can; but that they should not view a School Bus or a Commercialized version of a School Bus as northing more than a machine and as a piece of steel. Rather, they should view a School Bus or a Commercialized version of a School Bus as a vehicle where the most important aspect of it is a body designed and manufactured by another party being mounted atop a readily available Chassis.
Heaven forbid that Candace Imbrunone-Barr comprehends just how much more important that the School Buses that she drives are than the Detroit Lions NFL Team, the National Football League as a whole, the Sport of American Football, and any other Sport.
I am sure that my good friend Ken Squier, Jefferson-Standard/Jefferson-Pilot employees Charles Crutchfield, Bob Lacey, Cheryl “Sheri Lynch” Wardlynch, Bob Inman, Mike and Barbara McKay, and Eric Thomas; the founder of Storer Broadcasting/Storer Communications originally as the Fort Industry Company George B. Storer, and George’s son and later the head of Storer Broadcasting/Storer Communications Peter Storer Sr. would each be disappointed in the behavior of Candace Imbrunone-Barr and her equally evil colleagues.
I am also sure that another friend of mine, former NASCAR Crew Chief and Team Owner Ray Evernham, and fellow NASCAR Team Owners Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, Jack Roush, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, and Bill and Mickey Stavola; would also be disappointed in the behavior of Candace Imbrunone-Barr and her equally evil colleagues.
Besides the fact that Sports and Fitness have always needed to be ruined for Matt Kenseth and Matt Frazier, and getting together, socializing amongst each other, entertaining each other, cooking for each other, and their penchant for Sports have always needed to be ruined for each and every one of the relatives that I have never meant to have anything to do with; Roone Arledge being the President of both ABC’s News and Sports Department as of this time, and WXYZ-TV, WXYZ-AM, and WRIF-FM (nee WXYZ-FM) still being owned and operated by ABC as of this time are much more important than Matt Kenseth and Matt Frazier’s penchant for Sports, the penchant for Sports that each and every one of the relatives that I have never meant to have anything to do with, each and every one of the relatives that I have never meant to have anything to do with getting together, socializing amongst each other, entertaining each other, cooking for each other; Matt Kenseth and Matt Frazier also getting together with their closest relatives, befriending relatives who are close to, or exactly the same age as they are; and their close relatives socializing amongst each other, entertaining each other, cooking for each other; and Matt Kenseth and Matt Frazier also fraternizing with other Athletes.
An Op-Ed Article By The Publisher Of The Broadcasting Trade Magazine “Radio, Incorporated”, By The Name Of Deborah Parenti; Regarding The Differences Between The CBS Television Programs “WKRP In Cincinnati” And It’s Sequel “The New WKRP In Cincinnati” (Both Of Which Were Based On WQXI-AM In Atlanta), And The Axiomatical Broadcasting Industry.
For a time, WQXI-AM; the inspiration for the Television Shows “WKRP In Cincinnati” And It’s Sequel “The New WKRP In Cincinnati”, were owned by Esquire, Incorporated (the namesake and publisher of the Magazine “Esquire”), and more recently; WQXI-AM and its FM offspring WSTR-FM (nee WQXI-FM) were both owned and operated by Jefferson-Pilot, and subsequently; by Lincoln Financial, after Jefferson-Pilot was absorbed into Lincoln Financial, but before Lincoln Financial decided to exit the Broadcasting Industry, and sell all of their Radio and Television Stations beginning in 2006, and ending in 2014; with WQXI-AM, and WSTR-FM (nee WQXI-FM) being the very last broadcasting properties to be owned and operated by Lincoln Financial.
Around the time of writing this post, 50 kilowatt Class I-A “Clear Channel” Radio Station WCCO-AM is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary.
The call letters WCCO-AM stand for the Washburn-Crosby Company, which had put the Station on the air in October, 1924.
The Washburn-Crosby Company would eventually be absorbed into General Mills.
In 1932, CBS had purchased WCCO-AM from General Mills.
In 1939, WCCO-AM had put the Experimental APEX Station W9XHW on the air.
In 1952, CBS had sold majority control of WCCO-AM and FM to Midwest Communications, a company founded by the McNeil and McNally families; and was a joint venture between the McNeil and McNally families, CBS, the Saint Paul Pioneer Press, and the Minneapolis Tribune Company.
CBS’s reason for selling a majority control of WCCO-AM and FM is because CBS did not want to accede the amount of Radio and Television Stations that they owned and operated beyond the limit imposed by the FCC as of this time, where an individual or a business couldn’t own more than a maximum of 7 AM/Mediumwave Radio Stations, 7 FM Radio Stations, and 5 Television Stations; and they chose to sell a majority control of the WCCO Radio Stations in exchange for purchasing the KMOX Stations in St. Louis, Missouri; in order to remain within the quota set forth by the FCC.
With the quota set forth by the FCC as to how many AM/Mediumwave, FM, and Television Stations that an individual or a business could own having been enlarged by the early 1990’s; Midwest Communications had filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in 1992, and CBS had not only repurchased the WCCO Radio Stations, but they had also purchased WCCO-TV (originally WTCN-TV, and originally the offshoot of WTCN-AM; as Midwest Communications had owned and operated WTCN-AM as of the time what is now WCCO-TV was put on the air in July, 1949; before Midwest Communications had to sell the WTCN Radio Stations in exchange for acquiring majority control of the WCCO Radio Stations, and had changed the call letters of the Television Station to WCCO-TV in 1952).
As of the time of writing this post, what is now WCCO-TV remains under the ownership of CBS (itself under the ownership of the original CBS’s Television Film Sales and Home Video business arm that was founded in 1952, prior to spinning off this business arm in 1971; due to the FCC enacting a rule that would later be repealed (known as the Financial Interest and Syndication Rules, also abbreviated as the Fin-Syn Rules) where at the time, the Big Three Television Networks could not own any Television Syndication or Home Video business arms in an effort to keep the Big Three Networks from potentially monopolizing the entire Television Broadcasting and Home Video industries; Viacom.
Like the rest of CBS’s heritage owned and operated Radio Stations: WCBS-AM-FM, WBBM-AM-FM, WPHT-AM (nee WCAU-AM), WOGL-FM (nee WCAU-FM), KMOX-AM, KNX-AM, KCBS-FM (nee KNX-FM), KCBS-AM in San Francisco; and KLLC-FM (which at one time, held the KCBS-FM call letters; as CBS was late to the game, so to speak, on building or acquiring an already existing FM sibling of KCBS-AM); CBS had sought to divest itself of its owned and operated Radio Stations in 2016, in 2017; CBS had sold all of its owned and operated Radio Stations to Entercom as part of a Tax-free transaction known as a Reverse Morris Trust, and Entercom had changed its name to Audacy in 2021.
CBS, having merged with Westinghouse Broadcasting/Group W in 1995; as part of yet another effort to not accede the amount of Radio Stations that they own and operate; had sold off KLOU-FM (nee KMOX-FM) to Entercom (long before Entercom, later Audacy would acquire all of CBS’s owned and operated Radio Stations) in 1995. Entercom, in turn; would sell KLOU-FM (nee KMOX-FM) to Clear Channel Communications/IHeart Media in 1999. As of the time of writing this post, IHeart Media continues to own and operate KLOU-FM.

I am deeply saddened over the death of Electronic Journalist and Talk Show host Phil Donahue, who had undoubtedly paved the way for Oprah Winfrey, her protégé Dr. Phil McGraw, and their Talk Shows; and also for the likes of Sally Jessy Raphael, Montel Williams, Maury Povich, Jenny Jones, and Ricki Lake; and their (sometimes Trash) Talk Shows.
Phil Donahue, at one time; had worked for Crosley/Avco Broadcasting, and WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio; before moving to fellow Crosley/Avco-owned Television Station in Dayton, Ohio; WLWD-TV (now WDTN-TV), where his Talk Show would originate from as a locally produced, in-house production of WLWD-TV starting in 1967; before becoming nationally syndicated starting in 1970, and eventually moving the production of his Talk Show to Chicago, and ultimately; to New York City until it’s ending in 1996.
Phil Donahue, for a time; had also worked at WHIO-AM-FM-TV; prior to working at a couple of the Crosley/Avco Television Stations, and ultimately, launching his local, and later nationally syndicated Talk Show.
WHIO-AM was the very first Radio Station to be owned by what is now the Cox Media Group, as the Founder of the Cox Conglomerate; one-time Governor of the U.S State of Ohio by the name of James Monroe-Middleton Cox, had put WHIO-AM on the air in 1935 as an offshoot of one of Cox’s Newspapers, the Dayton Daily News.
A few years later, in 1939; Cox would purchase the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Newspaper and their Radio Station; WSB-AM. Over time, Cox would put WHIO FM and TV, WCON-FM, and WSB-FM and TV on the air.
Well into the present day, Cox retains ownership of The Dayton Daily News Newspaper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Newspaper, the WHIO Stations; and the WSB Stations.
