How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?
I have not ever adapted, and I can not, and I will not ever adapt to the changes brought on by the SARS V2/COVID-19 Pandemic.

Daily writing promptDescribe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.
A phase in life that remains difficult for me to say goodbye to well into the present day, and well into the future; is the phase in both mine and my parents’ lives where we had Full-Size Station Wagons, Suburbans, Volkswagens/Audis, other European Cars of German, French, and Italian origin; we were closer to my father’s family than my mother’s, my parents had inundated me with Electric Fans, and we almost bought a sizable House on acres of property.
In part and parcel, WJBK-TV being a CBS Television affiliate; and being owned and operated by Storer Broadcasting is also a “phase” that will always and forever be hard to say goodbye to.
Yet another ‘phase’ that is hard to say goodbye to is NASCAR’s ways prior to the 21st Century, where NASCAR never tried to be as appealing to the average younger person as Basketball, American Football, Association Football/Soccer, Baseball, and Hockey; Stick and Ball Sports and Fitness weren’t ever in NASCAR’s mix, and NASCAR Drivers and members of Pit Crews were nothing more than regular Car guys.
Likewise to WJBK-TV becoming a FOX affiliate, my parents owning Minivans and Crossover Utility Vehicles such as the Pontiac Aztek and the Buick Rendezvous, and my parents becoming closer to my mother’s family than my father’s; I’ve unequivocally had and continue to have absolutely zero tolerance for NASCAR, since the 21st Century; trying to be as appealing to the average younger person as Basketball, American Football, Association Football/Soccer, Baseball, and Hockey; and modern NASCAR drivers being traditional stick-and-ball athletes turned Stock Car drivers because they had never made the cut as a traditional stick-and-ball athlete, and being a Racing Car driver was the only other thing they had trained to do or else they would have to enter an entirely new and different line of work.

The most important things anyone should carry with them all the time are a Brick-style Cell Phone and/or a Bagphone.

The 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s are eternal in an Alternate Universe.
My life in an Alternate Universe, not unlike what I’ve described in these earlier posts The Things That Matter The Most To Have In Order To Have A Happy And Successful Life and Another Post Pertaining To Early Life And Continuous Livelihood; is where my parents and I live together with my paternal grandmother under one roof in a house, and on property like the ones pictured below:
My mother’s family is never in our lives, while we are very close to my father’s family.
Shannon and Ray, Alison and her husband David, and Colin and his wife Sheila each own Motorhomes.
We have more Full-Size Station Wagons (like those on the GM B and Ford Panther Platforms), more Suburbans, more Full-Size 2-Door Utility Vehicles, more Full-Size Vans, more Volkswagens/Audis, and we also have Mercedes-Benzs such as the W201, W124, S124, W126, W140, and the R129.
We also have a Tractor like the one pictured below to tend to all of the property that we live on:
My mother works as a School Bus Driver. My mother’s very top boss, the Director of Transportation; is in our lives quire often. The Director and I remain friends.

Many, many other people employed in, and associated with the Commercial Broadcast Radio and Television Industry are in our lives.
CBS continues to be owned by the Paley family and is never purchased by Laurence Tisch, Westinghouse; and finally-it’s one time Video division that it had to spin off as a result of the SynFyn rule enacted by the FCC in the 1970’s; Viacom.
ABC continues to be owned by the family of Leonard Goldenson and is never purchased by Capital Cities Communications or the Walt Disney Company.
NBC continues to be jointly owned by the Sarnoff family and Radio Corporation of America (RCA), and it, nor RCA are ever purchased by General Electric (GE); or Comcast.
CBS’s News department continues to be the same as the era of Walter Cronkite, Edward Murrow, Eric Severeid, Douglas Edwards, Dan Rather, Lesley Stahl; and Bob Schieffer.
Roone Arledge continues to serve as the President of both ABC’s Sports and News Departments.
ABC continues to own and operate WXYZ-TV, in addition to WXYZ-AM/WRIF-FM to this day, it would never have to sell the WXYZ stations in order to obtain WPVI-TV and finalize the merger with Capital Cities Communications; and it would continue to own the WXYZ stations in addition to the WABC stations, KABC stations, WLS stations; and the KGO stations, KQV-AM and WDVE-FM (nee KQV-FM), WMAL-FM and WRQX-FM (nee WMAL-FM) all to this very day.
Storer Broadcasting/Communications continues to exist in business, and it continues to own WJBK-TV, WJW-TV/WJKW-TV, WAGA-TV; and WITI-TV. The Storer stations also forevermore continue to be CBS affiliates.
Shari Lewis, Marc Brown, his wife Laurene “Laurie”, and his 3 sisters Kim, Bonnie, and Colleen; and Rick Steves are in our lives.
Whenever Shari Lewis would bring her daughter Mallory over, when, Shannon and Ray, in turn; bring Shari and her sister-in-law and well-regarded Novelist Judith Krantz over. We learn first hand that Mallory is a completely different person when compared to her mother, and to put it at best; that Mallory is also a contemptible person when compared to her mother.
Bob Vila is an acquaintance of ours, and after renting out the prior home in Warren, Michigan; before we put it up for sale on the local Real Estate market, and sell it outright, Bob Vila, his right-hand man Bob Ryley, and a conscripted local Construction firm renovate, add on, and also convert our prior house to a Two-Story home as the subject of half a season of Bob Vila’s own Television Show that he started in 1990 upon leaving PBS’s “This Old House” a year earlier in 1989, “Bob Vila’s Home Again”. The renovation and addition project of our prior home, prior to selling it outright; is not unlike Bob Vila’s projects in the Los Angeles suburb of Malibu, California; and on the shore of Lake Cochituate in the Town of Wayland, Massachusetts, which were conversions of Ranch-style Homes into Two-Story Homes that also included additions on the Main Level.
The purpose of this renovation and addition is to make our prior house far more desirable on the local Real Estate market than it being it’s former state as a cookie-cutter small Ranch-style Home on a garden-variety small parcel of land, within a garden-variety subdivision, it was in need of a renovation, anyway; as it was left much in the same way as when it was also constructed in the early 1960’s, and to highlight on National Television the history of the Detroit suburb of Warren, Michigan, beginning with its foundation as a settlement known as Beebe’s Corners in 1830 as a Carriage Stop between the Detroit city proper and the Detroit suburb of Utica, Michigan; when Beebe’s Corners became Warren Township in 1837, when the Detroit suburb of Centerline broke away from Warren and became a City in its own right in 1936, and the Automotive and Military Vehicle Industries being responsible for transforming the Cities of Warren and Centerline into the sprawling urban areas they are will into the present day, with the construction of the Chrysler Tank Assembly Plant in 1940, and the construction of the General Motors Technical Center in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s.
CBS Sports President Neal Pilson, and CBS NASCAR Announcer Ken Squier are also in our lives. CBS Sports, for eternity; has the Television rights to NASCAR.
Whenever we Travel to Vermont by the way of a Recreational Vehicle (RV), whether driving it or towing it, to visit the family that lives in Vermont; we visit Ken Squier at his family’s Radio Station WDEV-AM in Waterbury, Vermont; at his Amateur Automobile Racetrack “Thunder Road” in Barre, Vermont; and at Ken’s house in Stowe, Vermont.
My parents and I also find ourselves wandering around Ken Squier’s Radio Station WDEV-AM in Waterbury, Vermont.
NASCAR Team Owners Bill and Mickey Stavola, Richard Childress, Bud Moore, brothers Glen and Leonard Wood, Jack Roush, Rick Hendrick, Tim Morgan, Larry McClure, Bob Rahilly, Butch Mock, Dick Bahre, Chuck Rider, Hoss Ellington, and Rod Osterlund, Crew Chiefs Ray Evernham, Andy Petree, Larry McReynolds, and Jake Elder, Richard Childress Racing Employee and Tireman Danny “Chocolate” Meyers, Drivers such as Richard and Kyle Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Neil Bonnett, Cale Yarborough, David and Buddy Baker, Bobby and Davey Allison, Jeff and Ward Burton, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Sterling Marlin, Ricky Craven, Ned and Dale Jarrett, J.D McDuffie, Jimmy Means, Geoff and Brett Bodine, Ernie Irvan, Lake Speed, Rick Mast, Randy LaJoie, Billy Standridge, Rick Wilson, Billy Hagan, Harry Gant, Dave Marcis, Tommy Ellis, Tony Stewart, Charlie Glotzbach, Bobby Issac, and Ricky Rudd are all in our lives.
NASCAR eternally holds onto the ways it had during the 1970’s, 1980’s, and 1990’s, when it was a Car enthusiasts club rather than being a cohort to Basketball, Football, Hockey, Baseball, and Soccer/Association Football.
Instead of ever making it into NASCAR, Elliott Sadler, Kevin Harvick, Richard Childress’s grandsons Austin and Tyler Dillon, and Randy LaJoie’s son Corey LaJoie either find themselves being Professional Basketball Players in the NBA, Professional American Football Players in the NFL, or Professional Baseball Players in the MLB.
Additionally, Kevin Harvick might also find himself as a Professional Hockey Player in the NHL.
Instead of ever making it into NASCAR, Indy Car, or Formula 1, Casey Mears, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth, Kasey Kahne, Jenson Button, Nick Heidfeld, James Hinchcliffe, Robert Wickens, Josef Newgarden, and Conor Daly each find themselves being Professional Basketball Players in the NBA.
Instead of ever making it into NASCAR, Brian Vickers finds himself being a Professional Basketball Player in the NBA, or a Professional Baseball player in the MLB.
Instead of ever making it into NASCAR, Regan Smith finds himself being a Professional Basketball Player in the NBA, a Professional American Football Player in the NFL, or a Professional Hockey Player in the NHL.

I would describe myself as a person who is moralistic, sanctimonious, and preachy.

My future Travel Plans for the nearer future (as of the time of writing this post) are to travel to North Carolina to visit with my friend and former ABC Executive Allen Shaw, to visit Ray Evernham and his Administrative Assistant Det Cullum, to visit with Richard Childress and his Administrative Assistant Sandra Robertson, to visit with Rick Hendrick and his Administrative Assistant, to visit with Jack Roush and his Administrative Assistant Donna Moretz, to visit with Dale Earnhardt Jr., his Administrative Assistant Wendy Impagliazzo, and his sister Kelley Earnhardt-Miller, to visit with Tony Stewart and his Administrative Assistant, to visit WBT-AM, WBTV-TV, and my friends over there Shelly Hill-Crawford and Mike Schaefer; visit the Studios of Cox-owned and operated WSOC-AM-FM-TV, to visit former Jefferson-Pilot Communications, WBT-AM-FM and WBTV employees Bob Lacey and Sheri Lynch at WKQC-FM, and to also visit the Studios of WRAL-FM and TV in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In the more distant future, in part and parcel to acquiring a Motorhome like those I’ve written about in these earlier posts The Things That Matter The Most To Have In Order To Have A Happy And Successful Life and The Things I Am Most Excited About For The Future; I plan on traveling in this Motorhome to the destinations transcribed below in this post.
We plan on traveling to the vicinity of Brockville, Ontario, Canada to visit with the widow of Don McGowan of CFCF-TV, Rosemarie McGowan.
We plan on traveling to Vermont in order to attend a Gilligan Family Reunion at Shannon’s house, to visit Ken Squier at whichever Nursing Home he could be living in at any given moment, and to also visit Bill Haugland; who had worked as the lead Anchor at CFCF-TV, and for a time as a Radio Newsman at CFCF-AM and CFQR-FM (nee CFCF-FM) in Montreal alongside Don McGowan, who, in turn; had worked as a Weatherman before you needed a College Degree, and have an understanding of how all of the Doppler and Weather Tracking equipment works; and as a Host of Talk Shows and Game Shows that were produced by CFCF-TV and carried nationally in Canada by the CTV Television Network. Bill Haugland became a Book Author upon his retirement from CFCF-TV in circa 2005-2006.
We plan on traveling to Martha’s Vineyard to visit with Bob Vila, Marc Brown, and their wives Diana Barrett and Laurene “Laurie” Krasny-Brown.
While in the Boston-Martha’s Vineyard-Cape Cod area, we would also plan on visiting the Studios of WBZ-AM-TV, WRK0-AM-TV, WCGY-AM, WMEX-AM, WHDH-AM, and WEEI-AM-FM.
We plan on traveling to Western Massachusetts (near the Vermont and New York State borders) to visit with former CBS Sports President Neal Pilson (who had spearheaded CBS’s purchase of the Television Rights to NASCAR, the overall concept of flag-to-flag coverage of a NASCAR Race, had hired Ken Squier to call the NASCAR Races that CBS had televised, and had served as Ken’s boss for much of Ken’s time at CBS) in the Town of Richmond, Massachusetts.
We plan on traveling to the Troy area in New York to visit the Studio and Transmitter Site of WGY-AM, and GE’s Shortwave Radio Stations WGEO-SW, WGEA-SW, and WGEX-SW. the Shortwave Radio Stations left this Transmitter Site after 1963, when the Federal Government took them over on behalf of the Voice of America; and moved operations of them, in addition to CBS and NBC’s Shortwave Transmitter Sites to a newer Shortwave Transmitter Site in Greenville, North Carolina that the Government built in the early ‘60’s.
We plan on traveling to the Dayton and Cincinnati areas in Ohio to attend the Dayton Ham Radio Convention-the biggest in the entire country, to visit the WLW-AM Transmitter Site; and to also visit the Crosley Shortwave Transmitter Site (which, like GE, CBS, and NBC’s Shortwave Transmitter Sites; were also taken over by the Government in 1963, except the Crosley site stayed put while the others were moved to and consolidated in Greenville, NC) that has since been converted into a Museum that is open to the Public.

We plan on traveling to the Baltimore-D.C area to receive a Tour of Maryland Public Television, visit with John Davis, the Host and Founder of MotorWeek (and talk with John about his career in both the Broadcasting and Stock Market industries, or in other words; his Broadcasting, Stock Market, and Automotive Hats; him having started at MPT as a Producer of Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser (also originated from MPT, and carried nationally by PBS), his time working at the NBC affiliate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina while still at Student at the University of North Carolina; and how I would personally run General Motors), to visit with the host of the PBS Television Program ‘To The Contrary’ Hosted By Bonnie Erbe and talk with her about her time working for NBC News, about how To The Contrary since its inception in March, 1992 has always been such a darn good quality show; and how neither she nor I can really tolerate modern life and modern society, to drive by the House in Governor’s Run, Maryland that had served as Harrison Ford and Anne Archer’s House in Patriot Games; and to visit the Studios of WMAL-AM, WRQX-FM (nee WMAL-FM), and WJLA-TV (nee WMAL-TV), WRC-TV, WRC-AM, WKYS-FM (nee WRC-FM), WUSA-TV (which the Detroit News had literally traded WWJ-TV for, resulting in Post-Newsweek receiving WWJ-TV and changing the Call Letters from WWJ-TV to WDIV, and the Detroit News receiving WUSA-TV when it was WTOP-TV, changed the Call Letters to WDVM-TV, and even later to the current WUSA-TV Call Letters), WTOP-AM, WHUR-FM (nee WTOP-FM), and WASH-FM (nee W3XL).

We plan on traveling to the areas of LeClaire, Iowa; and Nashville, Tennessee to visit with one of the founders of the Picking business “Antique Archaeology”, and star of the History Cable Channel Reality Television Show “American Pickers”, Mike Wolfe.
While in the Nashville area, we also plan on visiting the Studios of WSM-AM-FM, WSMV-TV (formerly WSM-TV), WLAC-AM-FM, WSIX-AM-FM, and WKRN-TV (formerly WSIX-TV) and the Transmitter Site of WSM-AM.
We plan on traveling to the area of Suwanee, Georgia to visit with the star of the A&E Cable Channel “Hoarders”, and the PBS Reality Television Show “Legacy List”, Matt Paxton.
We plan on traveling to the Mt. Pleasant area in Michigan only to visit with Dr. Pol and his wife Diane. See this earlier post A Veterinarian And His Wife In Mid-Michigan.
We plan on traveling to the municipalities whose Police Departments are the subjects of the Reality Television Show “The First 48”, such as Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mobile, Alabama; Dallas, Texas; Harris County, Texas; Louisville, Kentucky; New Orleans, Atlanta, DeKalb County, Georgia; Gwinnett County, Georgia; Broward County, Florida; and Kansas City, Kansas.
While at these Police Departments, we will try to get many of these dynamic, progressive, athletic, and in most cases-modernist Detective Guys the thing that I have about hair, how much I don’t like change, and how much more important the Automotive world, Ham Radio, and Commercial Broadcast Radio all are than Sports and Fitness.
We would also like to try to get Basketball Player, Baseball Player, Athletic Trainer, Personal Trailer, And Former Homicide Detective With The Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Department Who Was Featured On The Reality Television Program “The First 48” Matt Frazier who had left the Tulsa Police Department, and the profession of Policing as a whole in 2016; to understand the thing that I have about air, how much I don’t like change, and how much more important the Automotive world, Ham Radio, and Commercial Broadcast Radio all are than Sports and Fitness.
While in Atlanta, we would also plan on visiting the Studios of WAGA-TV, WSB-AM-FM-TV, and WQXI-FM.
While in Dallas, we would plan on visiting the Studios of WBAP-TV, KSCS-FM (nee WBAP-FM), KXAS-TV (nee WBAP-TV), WFAA-TV, KRLD-AM-FM, KDFW-TV (nee KRLD-TV), KTCK-AM, WRR-FM, KLIF-AM, and KBFB-FM (nee WFAA-FM).
While in Harris County, Texas; we would plan on visiting the Studios of KXYZ-AM, KAUM-FM (nee KXYZ-FM), KTRK-TV, WOAI-AM-TV, KAJA-FM (nee WOAI-FM), KTRH-AM, KBME-AM, KLAT-AM, KODA-FM, and KPRC-AM-TV.
While in Kansas City, Kansas; we would be taking a daytrip to Topeka to visit the Studio of WIBW-AM-TV, and KKSU-AM.
We also plan on traveling to the Hampton Roads area in Virginia to visit with Dan Short, and to also go to Radio and Television Stations in the Hampton Roads area.

If we ever travel to North Carolina in this Motorhome that I would like to acquire, in addition to the people we plan on visiting in the nearer future while not possessing a Motorhome, we would also visit the Police Department of the City of Charlotte, North Carolina; mainly to visit with the Detectives of the Charlotte Police Department who are the subject of the Reality Television Program “The First 48”.

What would I change about modern society, may you ask? That is a very easy one for me.
I would return modern society back to the ways society was during the 1970’s, 1980’s, and the early 1990’s.
This includes re-instilling the mores of the 1970’s, 1980’s, and the early 1990’s, and the culture of these periods of time.
Which, in part and parcel; includes standalone Film Cameras, AM/Mediumwave, FM, and Shortwave Radio Stations, the popularity of Ham Radio, Payphones, Brick Style Cellular Telephones, Bagphones, terrestrial, over the air Television; the presence of Adult Contemporary, Easy Listening, and Jazz music from these periods of time, the Automobile Racing sanctioning bodies of NASCAR, Indy Car, and Formula 1 each returning to the ways they had gone about their business during these periods of time.
Moreover, male haircuts and hairstyles such as Buzzcut, Crewcut, Brush Cut, Flattop, High & Tight, Reconnaissance, Undercut, and Pompadour haircuts; males shaving their heads with a razor and shaving cream, and males having long hair, and wearing their hair into Ponytails and these so-called “Man Buns” would all be nonexistent.
Instead, male haircuts like the haircut worn by yours truly, the owner of this very Blog; and male haircuts like that in the photographs below, would exist.

The things that I am most excited about for the Future are my parents and I, after being stuck in the house in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Michigan for over 3 decades (as of the time of writing this post) almost like if we had each received lifetime prison sentences in this house and neighborhood in September, 1990; finally moving out of this awful house and neighborhood, and into a house on the type and amount of property somewhere within the rural rim of the Detroit area not unlike, as an example; this house in the Town of Elizabethtown, Illinois (a Town on the Ohio River, and the Illinois-Kentucky border):

Moreover, for as long as my parents are still alive; I look forward to purchasing a Class A Diesel Pusher Motorhome on a Class 8 Stripped Chassis, powered by a Big Bore Cummins, Caterpillar, or Mercedes-Benz/Detroit Diesel 500-600 Horsepower Turbocharged Diesel Engine, like the ones in the Brochures seen on the bottom of this very post. And, traveling to all of the places that I need and want to travel to, and seeing all of the people that I need and want to see; and transcribed in this earlier post: The Things That Matter The Most To Have In Order To Have A Happy And Successful Life.
I look forward to excluding from the rest of my life, my mother’s family, relatives that I was never meant to have anything to do with; as written in this earlier post I Am Worried About My Parents Potentially Choosing To Stay Put In The House That We’ve Tried Many Times To Move Out Of For So Many Years Prior, That My Parents Could Rekindle Their Relationships With My Mother’s Family, That I Could Wind Up Living With My Sister And Her Husband, And That My Parents May Acquire Any More Minivans. In part and parcel, should my parents ever rekindle their relationships with them, I look forward to my parents respecting my wishes, being mindful of yours truly choosing to exclude my mother’s family from my life for the rest of my life, and having an attitude and a mindset along the lines of “If Matthew doesn’t want to have anything to do with them, so be it. We’ll just leave him alone about it”.
I also look forward to excluding not my sister, but her husband from my life for the rest of my life, and my sister having an attitude and a mindset along the lines of “If my brother doesn’t like him, and doesn’t want to have anything to do with him, so be it. We’ll just leave him alone about it”.
In part and parcel, I look forward to instead of living with my sister and her husband, owning my own place on acres of property while employing a caregiver to look after me; and owning a Compact Tractor, a collection of vehicles as large as that of Jay Leno’s, and NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart’s; possessing an Advanced Amateur/Ham Radio License, and owning and operating all of the necessary equipment (including all of the necessary Indoor and Outdoor Antennas) for my Amateur/Ham Radio apparatus.
Moreover, I look forward to having my Novel that I wrote under one of my two Pen Names “Wilbur Hay” https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-day-to-day-lives-of-a-well-off-couple-and-their-autistic-son-wilbur-hay/1140309955?ean=9781668575581 adapted into a Live or Animated Motion Picture.
I am also looking forward to potentially becoming more involved in the Broadcast Radio and Television Industry.
Additionally, I am looking forward to maybe having my “handprint” (as the saying goes) on the Automotive Industry.

In layman’s terms, for those of you who don’t understand any of the terminology of the Broadcast Radio Industry, and/or have never researched or followed the Broadcast Radio Industry; my favorite genres of Music are Adult Contemporary, Middle Of The Road, Easy Listening, Instrumental Music, and Jazz; from the 1940’s up until the mid-1990’s.
