  • Recent Garry Marshall Film Titled Mothers Day

    May 22nd, 2016

The recent Garry Marshall film titled “Mother’s Day”, like many other modern films; is not my cup of tea.

The recent Garry Marshall film titled “Mother’s Day” also isn’t my cup of tea because it’s about being congregated around people in general (in other words, people being social butterflies), being congregated around family members/relatives, gift giving; and pregnant women about to become new mothers.

Video of a documentary that had aired on PBS in 1979 about Gary Marshall, the shows that he had created for ABC; and when ABC’s slogan and image campaigns were modeled after the Orleans song “Still The One”. Gary Marshall, at this time; was obviously more vibrant as he was younger, as opposed to him now being an old curmudgeon in his 80’s.

This motion picture evokes thoughts of if modern NASCAR drivers such as Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, Elliott Sadler, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Brian Vickers, Casey Mears, Regan Smith, Josh Wise; and Michael McDowell were casted by Garry Marshall in this movie instead of actors such as Julia Roberts, Hector Elizondo; and Jennifer Aniston.

And I would spoil both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for these modern NASCAR drivers because I don’t want them to be the driving force behind the change and modernization of NASCAR, they should have never been allowed to get married, have children, and start a family in the first place; their marital status should remain the same as when they first began their Winston Cup careers in the early 2000’s-being that they should still be single; they shouldn’t enjoy celebrating the holidays with their relatives, they definitely should be banned from dressing to the nines, they should be fat and overweight instead of being fit and muscular; and they should have always been banned from being involved in sports.

I still consider these guys to be new drivers, and that drivers such as Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, and Rusty Wallace should still be racing.

The Mother’s Day and Father’s Day presents from me to these modern NASCAR drivers and their families would be a ride on my personal School Bus, so that they can finally comprehend just how much more important School Buses are than sports and fitness.

I would also spoil Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for NFL players Tom Brady, the Manning Brothers, and Drew Brees; NHL players Shane Doan, Derek Morris, and Tyson Nash; MLB players Kyle McClellan, Matt Holliday, Steve Pearce, Clint Barmes, Reed Johnson, and Chad Gaudin; and NBA players Eric Montross, Scott Pollard, Matt Geiger, Jud Buechler, Chris Burgess, and brothers Brent and Jon Berry; just to get them all to realize how much more important School Buses are than sports and fitness, and also; how much more important the broadcast radio and television and the ham radio worlds are than sports and fitness.

  • Beer Hall In Germany

    May 20th, 2016

A person had posted on his own big about his experience at the Mathaser beer hall in Munich, (West) Germany during a trip to (West) Germany that he had taken in July, 1987.

    http://potablecurmudgeon.blogspot.com/2007/07/mathaser-munich-and-summer-of-87-with.html

Mathaser is also Rick Steves’s favorite beer hall in Munich, and he has mentioned it and had featured the place on his television show.

  • As Morley Safer Retires, ’60 Minutes’ Looks Back On A Storied Career

    May 19th, 2016

I am very saddened by the death of Morley Safer. I am well aware of the legacy that he leaves behind at CBS News, and his career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) prior to joining CBS News in 1964.

Morley Safer was there to work with Walter Cronkite in Vietnam, and had joined 60 Minutes in 1970 to work with Dan Rather, Mike Wallace; and the program’s creator-CBS Evening News producer Don Hewitt.

Morley Safer was honored for his long and distinguished career in a “60 Minutes” special Sunday night, as he formally retires after 46 seasons with the program.

  • 1991 Motion Picture Not Without My Daughter Starring Sally Field

    May 12th, 2016

I have written a brief description about the 1991 motion picture titled “Not Without My Daughter” starring Sally Field in another blog post about a character from the Arthur movie for adults, Mary Alice “Muffy” Crosswire when she takes NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick’s son, Keelan to go see that movie at the movie theater within the local shopping mall.

If Mary Alice “Muffy” Crosswire From The Arthur Movie For Adults Babysat Kevin Harvick’s Son Keelan

The movie was adapted from a book of the same name written by Elizabeth Mahmoody in 1987, just a year after she was able to successfully flee Iran and return to the United States by the way of the United States Embassy located in Turkey.

Below is a link to an article about the 1991 motion picture:

A rare Thomas Rear Engine Safe-T-Liner with a John Deere engine converted to run on natural gas.

This is also the very last of this older generation of Rear Engine Safe-T-Liner to be produced, as at this time; Thomas was changing over to the newer generation of Rear Engine Safe-T-Liner that is still being produced to this day.

  • More Regarding The Sordid Basketball Guy That Elliott Sadler Is

    May 10th, 2016

A photo in this post from another blog with Elliott Sadler sporting an unsightly hairstyle with product in his hair.

And another example of how Elliott Sadler needs to be transformed from being fit and muscular to being fat and overweight.

Elliott Sadler should be banned from listening to Country and Hip-Hop music and should instead be forced to listen to Adult Contemporary, Jazz, and Easy Listening music.

Last, Elliott Sadler should really comprehend just how much more important School Buses and Ham Radio are than (icky, yucky) Basketball, (icky, yucky) Baseball; and any other (icky, yucky) sport. I’d also rather that Elliott Sadler never played Golf.

And Elliott Sadler should be incongruous about NASCAR’s modern ways and anachronistic about how NASCAR used to be during the 1970’s, 1980’s; and the 1990’s.

  • NASCAR STAR KASEY KAHNE ATTENDS PHOENIX SUNS GAME – Phoenix International Raceway

    May 10th, 2016

An example of how much of a sordid Basketball guy Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick; and Matt Kenseth all are.

They should not only be banned from playing (icky, yucky) Basketball, but any (icky, yucky) sport as well, they should not be allowed to dress to the nines, and their marital status should remain the same as when their Winston Cup careers began-where they should forevermore remain single and never have any children. And they should be transformed from being fit and muscular to being fat and overweight.

I still consider these guys newbies, while people such as Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, or Rusty Wallace should still be racing.

And the fact that NASCAR should never modernize and forevermore remain the same as it was during the 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s.

A car, or a School Bus comes first before Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick; and Matt Kenseth’s athleticism. Maybe these guys should be introduced to the magnificent world of Ham radio and how much more pleasant it is than (icky, yucky) sports.

This is also an example of how Formula 1 drivers Nick Heidfeld and Jenson Button are also sordid Basketball guys.

NASCAR star Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 5 Great Clips Chevy SS for Hendrick Motorsports, attended Wednesday’s Phoenix Suns home game versus the Charlotte Hornets at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Kahne was in the Phoenix area to promote the start of the 2016 NASCAR season, the Daytona 500, and the G

  • Article From The Los Angeles Times From 1993 Regarding Television Coverage Of Figure Skating Events

    May 10th, 2016

An article from the Los Angeles times from 1993 regarding the television coverage of Figure Skating Events, who had begun to sponsor them as of the early 1990’s, and why they were named the way they were.

This article talks about the way I would prefer to watch a figure skating event-televised by the 3 networks (CBS, ABC, and NBC) and not on FOX or on cable/satellite television. And the way I wish a sporting event would still be covered today, the same way they were as of the time this article was written and published-in the early 1990’s.
