  • WJBK-TV’s Studios In Southfield, Michigan

    May 26th, 2016

WJBK-TV’s (which should still be a CBS affiliate and should still be owned by Storer Broadcasting to this very day) studios on 9 Mile Road in Southfield, Michigan.

Storer had the studios for all of their television properties (WJBK-TV, WJW-TV/WJKW-TV, WAGA-TV, WITI-TV; and WSPD-TV) be designed and built in the Plantation architecture, which is why you see that the architecture of WJBK-TV’s studio that was completed in 1970 has a Southern flair to it.

And yet another post about how much I loathe many modern NASCAR drivers being involved into sports and being avid fitness enthusiasts, especially and including Kevin Harvick, Elliott Sadler, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth and his son Ross; Jimmie Johnson, Regan Smith; and Josh Wise.
And also, how much NASCAR Canadian Tire Series driver Gary Klutt; and Formula 1 drivers Nick Heidfeld, Jenson Button, and Dominik Kraiheimer involved into sports and being avid fitness enthusiasts just irritates me.

  • About Jamie Mccarthy Goodby

    May 26th, 2016

Jamie McCarthy (son of J.P McCarthy-longtime morning announcer for WJR-AM, a 50 Kw AM/Mediumwave station owned by the Goodwill Company, then by Capital Cities Communications along with WKBW-AM in Buffalo, New York; and when Capital Cities Communications had merged with ABC, the merged company had opted to keep WJR-AM/WHYT-FM and sell WXYZ-AM/WRIF-FM) had just recently produced a documentary about his father on WTVS-TV that is to be networked nationally by the entire Public Broadcasting System (PBS) television network.

J.P McCarthy, during the tail end of the Goodwill Company owning the station; was infuriated over not having received a pay raise at WJR-AM, wanted to do radio ads for the Stroh’s Beer (and Ice Cream) company but couldn’t while simultaneously keeping his job at WJR-AM; so he had moved to San Francisco and taken a job at ABC’s KGO-AM, where he had taken it’s morning shift ratings from #18 to #3 in the ratings. Then, when Capital Cities had purchased WJR-AM; the General Manager of the station had explained to the upper management of the new owners as to why J.P McCarthy was let go, and so J.P was then hired back with a pay raise and the opportunity to do radio commercials for whichever company he wanted.

A writer, producer, and actor with 20 years of experience in the marketing and communications field, Jamie McCarthy most recently served as the director of integrated production at Goodby, Silverst…

  • Five Star Basketball Camp Springfield College July 30- Aug 2 Day 1&2

    May 26th, 2016

This post is another example of just how much the majority of the world’s population being into sports, and the majority of families in all of North America having children who are heavily involved in sports just irritates me.
This post is also an example of just worlds of broadcast radio & television, ham radio; and DXing distant AM/mediumwave stations is better and is much more important than the world of sports. And how much the automotive world is also better and much more important than the world of sports.
Last, this post is to re-emphasize the fact that don’t like some of the pupil (icky, yucky) Basketball players that are the subject of this blog post having buzzcut haircuts.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1614945

    May 26th, 2016

Even though I am not fond of the GM chassis & cowl, the municipality advertises that they had purchased this bus, a Blue Bird Conventional from the school district that was getting rid of it in December, 2000 before they had repainted it white and had turned it to the Police department’s Mobile Command Center.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1614100

    May 25th, 2016

A Blue Bird conventional on the International 3700 chassis with an auxiliary manual transmission and a 2-speed rear axle.

The 3700 was the lower GVWR version of the 3800, just like how the 1723 was the lower GVWR version of the 1753 when it came to the S-Series.

A School Bus chassis with an auxiliary manual transmission and a 2-speed rear axle has always been a rarity, and always had to be custom-ordered.

  • Deauville Airport In Normandy, France

    May 24th, 2016

The Deauville airport in Normandy, France; a very 1960’s airport. Just one way I would prefer an airport to be in nature.
Other ways I would prefer an airport to be in nature are that it would be very 1970’s, very 1980’s; and from the early 1990’s.

  • NASCAR Driver Brendan Gaughan

    May 23rd, 2016

NASCAR driver Brendan Gaughan also isn’t my cup of tea.

I don’t like Brendan Gaughan playing icky, yucky Basketball and icky, yucky Football. Brendan Gaughan’s time at Gonzaga University playing icky, yucky Basketball doesn’t mean anything to me.

Brendan Gaughan should also be transformed from being fit and muscular to being fat and overweight, should be forced to listen to Adult Contemporary, Jazz, and Easy Listening music; and should also come into realization of just how much more important School Buses are than sports and fitness.

Brendan Gaughan should also come into realization of how wonderful the broadcast radio & television and the ham radio worlds are than sports and fitness.

I also don’t like Brendan Gaughan being another driving force towards the modernization of NASCAR.
