  • Watch African Americans: Many Rivers To Cross on KLRU

    June 30th, 2016

Myself personally watching this series causes me to get choked up and emotional.

This is a very informative, enlightening; and philosophical television documentary about the 500-year history of African Americans.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. is a very good man.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. has done an extensive amount of research on the 500-year history of African Americans prior to producing this television series.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. is the same type of person that I am, that Ray is, that Jan Pol is; and also, the same type of person that our friend Dennis is.

This series chronicles the full sweep of African American history, from the origins of slavery on the African continent through five centuries of historic events right up to present day — when America has a …

  • Yet Another Example of How Hockey, Like Any Other Sport; Is Icky And Yucky

    June 30th, 2016

Not too long ago, I had written a post about former NHL player Martin LaPointe and just how icky and yucky Hockey, like any other sport; is.

    https://mparij.wordpress.com/2016/06/13/another-example-of-how-hockey-like-any-other-sport-is-icky-and-yucky/

Yet another example of how Hockey, like any other sport; is icky and yucky, is that former NHL player Derek Morris should be transformed from being fit and muscular to being fat and overweight. Like fellow NHL players Martin Lapointe, Darren McCarty; and many other athletes, Derek Morris should also have his tattoos removed.

Derek Morris should also be barred from sporting a buzzcut haircut or a razor-shaved head, and somebody should closely observe his head with a magnifying glass to ensure that his hair will someday grow back.

Derek Morris has often had buzzcut haircuts that look identical to the buzzcut haircuts that an amateur barber located somewhere in northwestern Illinois near the Wisconsin border has given to a man in the link below:

    http://www.crewcut.com/how/public/jeremys_buzzcuts/jeremys_buzzcuts.html

And, further evidence that Derek Morris should be rushed to the hospital to have his tattoos removed; and become tattoo-free from that point forward.

    https://vimeo.com/72368133

Derek Morris, at one time; had also wore long hair. Often at times with product in it, making his long hair look even worse.

I would have forced Derek Morris to have his hair cut shorter, sporting a hairstyle like the boy in the picture below:

Once again, School Buses are more important than Hockey, or any other sport.

  • Rick Steves’s Son Andy

    June 30th, 2016

Rick Steves had two children with his ex-wife Anne Jenkins, Andrew (Andy) and Jacquelyn (Jackie).

Some time ago, I had written a post about Rick’s trip to Cuba, and his son Andy’s weird haircut.

More Regarding Rick Steves’s Trip To Cuba

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Rick, how could you possibly let your son get that weird haircut?

Rick’s son Andy should instead wear his hair like the boy in the picture below:

    IMGP6647

And Rick’s son Andy should dwell on the past, and the T3 Transporter/Vanagon that his father had once co-owned with Steve Smith:

And both of Rick’s children-Andy & Jackie should dwell on the successive T4 Transporter/EuroVan generation as well:

  • Supreme Court rejects Kwame Kilpatrick’s appeal

    June 28th, 2016

I abominate former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

Since Kwame Kilpatrick had left office, Kilpatrick had received everything he deserved; including the Supreme Court denying his appeal.

Kwame Kilpatrick richly deserves to spend time in jail under Federal charges.

Kwame Kilpatrick would get along very well with the evil Donald Trump.

See earlier post regarding the evil Donald Trump:

    https://mparij.wordpress.com/2016/01/23/the-evil-donald-trump/

Local news outlets confirm that the United States Supreme Court has declined to hear the appeal of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s conviction, which saw him…

  • ABC Sports Telecast From 1974 With Chris Schenkel, Dave Diles, Keith Jackson, Jim Lampley; And Don Tollefson

    June 28th, 2016

Not that I personally care about any (icky, yucky) Football, and I would give a flunky who cares to those who have watched this telecast on this day in 1974; but here is an ABC Sports telecast from 1974 with Chris Schenkel hosting studio coverage, Keith Jackson doing the play-by-play, Dave Diles (also of ABC O&O WXYZ-TV) as the host of the College Scoreboard television program sponsored by Prudential (which would later move to CBS under the same sponsor); and recent college graduates Don Tollefson and Jim Lampley. Don Tollefson would eventually spend the rest of his career as the Sports Director at ABC affiliate WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, while Jim Lampley would spend many more years with ABC, then with NBC; and finally, with the dismal cable channel HBO as a play-by-play announcer for their trivial Boxing coverage.

This presentation of ABC Sports is right in tune with Roone Arledge’s Sports Department breaking away with convention. Such as Keith Jackson sitting in front of a screen with action from a game being played behind him, depicting if he were sitting right behind the Football field while actually sitting in the announcing booth, hiring sportscasters who are fresh out of college and putting them to work doing this particular sporting event; doing an up-close interview on coaches and Athletic Directors, and even giving insight on the area where the sporting event was taking place wasn’t even the norm at this time.

I really enjoy the General Motors commercial from this time for the Chevrolet Motor Division’s “Savings Plan”, and how television advertisements overall were as of this time; including the music score composed for a Goodyear commercial where a Ford LTD was used to demonstrate a new tire that the Goodyear Corporation at this time. I personally would have used a Mid-Size Galaxie or Torino for that demonstration and not a Full-Size LTD. There’s also a Schlitz Beer commercial with a Land Rover Series IIA 109″ Station Wagon in it.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1624205

    June 28th, 2016

A TC/2000 that was produced during the 3rd model year it had been in production-in 1990 (the TC/2000 has first gone into production in 1988), and was produced when Blue Bird’s quality, fit, and finish was still top notch; long before their quality, fit; and finish had begun to go down the drain.

  • Actor Keanu Reeves

    June 24th, 2016

Some time ago, I had written a post about actor Keanu Reeves being casted in the 1991 motion picture “Point Break” and his passing resemblance to NHL player Shane Doan.

    1991 Motion Picture “Point Break”

I  do not like Keanu Reeves having had a #0 clipper shaved head during rehearsals for the 1994 motion picture “Speed” and his hair having grown out to an equivalent to a #3 buzzcut by the time of the actual filming of this motion picture. All because the director of the motion picture “Speed” wanted the character that Keanu Reeves was playing in this movie to have a more masculine look with either a buzzcut haircut or a razor-shaved head rather than the shoulder-length long hair that Keanu Reeves normally sports.

I think that this is the very best hairstyle that Keanu Reeves ever sported:

    http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/october-14-1994-west-hollywood-ca-keanu-reeves-arrives-for-news-photo/51099831

The hairstyle in the above pictures is much, much better looking than the buzzcut haircut that Keanu Reeves had once sports and the long hair that Keanu Reeves normally sports.

  • So-Called “Brexit” Vote

    June 24th, 2016

I am not happy that the United Kingdom had voted to leave the European Union. Because of the UK’s vote, as of the time of the writing of this post; that stocks are beginning to tumble in a downward spiral.

In all honesty, I think that the bizarre term coined by Generation Xers and Millenials-“Brexit” refers to a specific ethnic group and language. Like how Brezh is the name for the French region of Brittany in the Breton language, and is also the name of the Breton ethnic group in the Breton language.

I DO NOT want Scotland and Northern Ireland, and also; possibly Wales to vote to leave the United Kingdom.

I DO NOT want Australia, New Zealand, Canada; and South Africa to possibly leave the Commonwealth of Nations and become independent republics.

It is very important to me that the majority of Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians, and South Africans are of English, Scottish, or Welsh descent; in addition to there also being a sizable amount of Canadians being of French descent, and there also being a sizable amount of South Africans being of German and Dutch descent.

I DO NOT want Britain to maybe ever abolish it’s monarchy-the House Of Windsor at some point in time in the future.
