  • How Democrats have changed since the Bill Clinton years

    July 24th, 2016

This article by PBS’s News Hour talks about the Democratic Convention of 1992, during a better time than the present day; when compared to the Democratic Convention of 2016.

This week’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia will have a “back to the future” feel as another Clinton readies to become a presidential nominee.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1645101

    July 22nd, 2016

Though again, I am not fond of the Freightliner FS-65 chassis & cowl, this particular chassis & cowl is one of the last school bus chassis to be produced with a manual transmission.

The manual transmission, along with the Dayton wheels; are features that seemed to disappear on School Bus chassis in the early 2000’s.

  • Current Volkswagen Commercial

    July 22nd, 2016

I sort of like this current Volkswagen commercial, with the Volkswagen Type 1, A1 Golf/Rabbit, one of my favorite generations of Passat as a wagon-the B3; and one of my favorite generations of Golf as a Cabriolet-the A3.

As you know if you’ve been following this blog for a while, I am not fond of modern commercials, period; and end of story.

Also, I would prefer that the children sit in the front seat rather than the backseat.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1653329

    July 22nd, 2016

Even though I am not fond of the Freightliner FS-65 chassis & cowl, this is one of the body lengths and seating configurations that I would prefer on a Ford B-Series or International S-Series and 3800 chassis & cowl.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1651035

    July 19th, 2016

A current-generation International 3300 chassis & cowl with a current-generation Ward/AmTran/IC body, a 2005 model year already being auctioned off due to it having the problematic VT365, one of the two diesel engine that Ford had ceased using in their Super Duty pickup trucks and in the Econoline; along with the equally problematic MaxxForce 7, and had designed their own 6.7 liter Turbo Diesel V8 engine to utilize instead.

Also, this bus is already being auctioned off likely because of the problems that are very common with a Ward/AmTran/IC body- an underbelly that is very prone to rust out and does not hold up well to corrosion, the wooden part of the underbelly that forms the floor of the inside of the bus rotting easily; and these bodies also being susceptible to structural problems over time.

As of 2016, the school district should be able to get at least a couple more years out of this bus.

  • A10 Nissan Violet Wagon In Merida, Mexico

    July 18th, 2016

An A10 Nissan Violet (sold as the Stanza in the United States and in Canada, and as the 140J/160J/180J; and the J-Series in other parts of the world) wagon in Merida, Mexico.

This A10 Nissan Violet wagon seems to have a new paint job, bring repainted a blue color.

    July 18th, 2016

A Mexican market Volkswagen Type 1 (built in Puebla, Mexico by Mexicans for the Mexican market long after production had ended in Europe up until 2003), and a Ford EcoSport; a B-Segemt SUV on the Ford Fiesta platform and is a direct competitor to the Jeep Renegade, Chevrolet Trax, Opel Mokka/Buick Encore; and Renault, Puegeor; and Citroen B-Segment SUVs; located in Cancun, Mexico.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1650439

    July 18th, 2016

A Front Engine TC/2000 that was produced 4 years prior to the TC/2000’s discontinuation in 2004, and this is one of the last buses to be produced with the Dayton wheels before all School Buses seemed to be produced strictly with the Budd wheels beginning in the early-2000’s.

I personally like the Dayton wheels better than the Budd wheels, mainly because I like the way the Dayton wheels look on a School Bus or on a Medium or Heavy-Duty truck better than the way Budd wheels look on a Class 6-8 vehicle.

  • B3 Passat Wagon and Ford Cargo Medium-Duty Truck Located In Belgorod, Russia

    July 17th, 2016

One of my favorite generations of Passat-the B3 as the wagon/estate variant, and a Ford Cargo Medium-Duty truck both located in Belgorod, Russia.

The Ford Cargo was jointly developed by Iveco, and in the United States; it had supplanted the Ford C-Series cabover model that was produced from 1957-1990.

Located next door to these vehicles is a very typical version that you would find in any rural Russian or Ukrainian village-an elderly woman wearing a head scarf doing work outside of her home.

  • Mercury Montego Wagon And T300 Dodge Pickup Located In Phoenix, New York

    July 16th, 2016

A late-1960’s Mercury Montego wagon and a T300 Dual Rear Wheel Dodge pickup truck both located in a repair shop in Phoenix, New York.

This repair shop looks like it might have been an automobile dealership during the early 20th century, and might have even been a horse-drawn carriage dealer prior to becoming an early automobile dealer.

  • WBXL-FM Transmitter Site In Baldwinsville, New York

    July 16th, 2016

WBXL-FM transmitter site in Baldwinsville, New York.

I’m not sure if this is an additional transmitter and tower that WBXL-FM transmits from, if this is a cellular phone tower; of if this is a microwave tower.

  • Thomas Minotour Located In Detroit City Proper

    July 16th, 2016

An abandoned Thomas Minotour located in Detroit city proper in Michigan on an Econoline cutaway chassis.

This bus resides next to an abandoned bone-stock Full-Size Ford Bronco, which I have written in other posts about those being modified into a Suburban-type vehicle by Centurion Industries of White Pigeon, Michigan; and we maybe buy one of those on an F-350 Dual Rear Wheel chassis instead of a diesel Suburban in “Early Life And Continuous Livelihood”.

Centurion Conversions In White Pigeon, Michigan

Ford Bronco Converted By Centurion Conversions Of White Pigeon, Michigan

As I have said before in other posts, I am not fond of Type A cutaway buses and Type B mini-buses built on the GM/Workhorse P-Chassis. I am only fond of heavier Type C conventional buses and Type D transit-style buses.

The purpose of this post is to wonder which school district, whether it be located anywhere in the Detroit area, anywhere in the State of Michigan; or anywhere in the nation had originally purchased and operated this bus, when it may have been decommissioned and auctioned off, and who had purchased this bus second-handedly, repainted it a different color; and left it abandoned in this spot in Detroit city proper.
