  • Telephone Switchboard Operators

    October 21st, 2016

A relative who I love and dearly care about, Marie “Mimi” (pictured below) had spent her entire career as a telephone switchboard operator, right up until the very moment she had retired. She had eventually worked her way up to being the boss of other switchboard operators many years her junior, and this was during the time when it was proper for women of the house to stay home, clean, cook; and help raise the children.

Below are videos from the Ma Bell Telephone company (before the divesture of the Ma Bell phone company that had taken place in 1984 upon being forced by the United States Government to do so), and British Telecom of switchboard operators, the switchboard console, switchboard operators doing their jobs of manually connecting one telephone line to another; and when during the 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s; these telephone companies had laid off the switchboard operators, the profession of a switchboard operator was over as we knew it; and the human switchboard operators were being replaced by mechanized digital line switching equipment.

Even though I don’t like the engine that this bus has, the T444E; this bus is the last of it’s kind to have the Dayton wheels, as all School Bus chassis would be built with the Budd wheels from this point forward.

  • MLB Players Steve Pearce And Jason Kipnis

    October 20th, 2016

MLB players Steve Pearce and Jason Kipnis should realize that Baseball, like any other sport; is icky and yucky. Steve Pearce and Jason Kipnis should also comprehend that the worlds of amateur/ham radio and commercial radio and television, and the automotive world are much more important and much more interesting than the world of sports and fitness.

Steve Pearce should be barred from having a razor-shaved head, and should instead be forced to wear his hair like the dirty-blonde haired boy and the dark-haired boy, both of whom are pictured below.

  • Television Program Forensic Files

    October 20th, 2016

An episode of the television program Forensic Files about a crime that had occurred in 1995 in Visalia, California regarding a pedophile who had raped women and had held them captive in a turquoise-colored MN-12 platform Ford Thunderbird that he had drove.

This crime is more important to me than NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick having grown up in nearby Bakersfield, California; how athletic he is and all of the sports programs he had participated in while he was in High School; and how near and dear to him his High School Alma Mater’s athletic program is.

The only things that matter are that Kevin Harvick should be transformed from being fit and muscular to being fat and overweight, should not be a purveyor of change and modernization of NASCAR, should be forced to listen to Adult Contemporary, Jazz, and Easy Listening music; and should come into realization that the worlds of amateur/ham radio and commercial radio and television are more important and more interesting than the world of sports and fitness.

Then there’s the fact that Kevin Harvick is not a car guy, and had only become a Stock Car driver because he couldn’t become a stick and ball athlete, and being a racing driver was the only other thing that he had trained to do for his entire childhood and teenage years right up until he had reached adulthood.

  • Murder Of A Man And A Woman In Seattle, Washington That Had Occurred In 1996

    October 19th, 2016

In 1996, a man whose name was Jay Johnson, a woman whose name was Raquel Rivera, and their dog; a Labrador Retriever-mix named Chief had been murdered inside their home in Seattle, Washington were murdered by Kenneth Leuluaialii, a man of Polynesian descent; and another man whose name is George Tuilefano.

The assailants had randomly pulled up in front of the couple’s house in a vehicle that is not my cup of tea, a 4th generation F-platform Chevrolet Camaro; broken in and entered the house, shot and killed the dog as soon as it had aggressively began to go after them, worked their way up to the second floor, shot and killed Raquel Rivera in one room on the second floor; and then entered another room on the second floor and shot and killed Jay Johnson. And then these two assailants had exited the house and sped off in their car as they were fleeing the scene.

The main witness was a teenaged girl who was staring outside the window in her family’s home this is located directly across the street from the Johnson-Rivera home; who saw the assailants exit their 4th generation F-platform Camaro and break and enter into the home. And then this teenaged girl had watched these assailants speed off in their car like a bat out of hell once they were done slaying this couple and their dog.

This murder is the subject of an episode of the television program Forensic Files.

  • Public Surplus: Auction #1705422

    October 19th, 2016

This bus is one of the last of it’s kind to ever be produced, as International had discontinued the 3800 chassis & cowl the year before in 2002, and Blue Bird had only produced very few conventionals on the International 3800 and it’s successor-the International 3300 as IC was firmly committed to building it’s own body on it’s own chassis; and Blue Bird was becoming committed to building it’s own body on it’s own Vision chassis & cowl.

  • Molding a More Sustainable Future: How Ford Recycles Clay to Reduce Landfill Waste | Ford Media Center

    October 17th, 2016

This is a very neat method as to how the Ford Motor Company recycles it’s clay scraps from it’s current clay models into blocks of recycled clay for use on future clay models.

Modeling clay is a favorite of many children, who can craft, re-craft and recycle the pliable stuff over many years. While a bit more advanced, Ford has employed a similar idea with the clay it uses to model future vehicles: craft, re-craft and then recycle, the latter to the tune of nearly 5,000 pounds of clay each year.

  • Another Century-Old Ford Dealership

    October 17th, 2016

Tenevoorde Ford; one of the oldest operating Ford dealerships in the entire country; has been in business since 1901 and has sold Ford Medium & Heavy-Duty trucks and has serviced the Ford B-Series chassis & cowl prior to Ford having sold off this business division to Daimler/Freightliner to become Sterling in 1996.

    http://www.tenvoordeford.com/history-and-heritage.htm

There’s another Ford dealer that’s been operating continuously in Natchitoches, Louisiana since 1905-simply titled Natchitoches Ford-Lincoln.

As the name implies, the dealership also sells Lincolns; and when the Mercury brand was still in existance, this dealership also carried Mercuries under one roof at the same location as well.

I’m not sure if this dealership, at any point in time; has sold Ford Medium & Heavy-Duty trucks and serviced the Ford B-Series chassis & cowl.

As the dealership had expanded over the years, with the dealership’s original building still in place; the dealership has also taken over adjoining buildings-such as a food store, and converted these adjoining buildings into one larger dealership.

Inside the showroom, there is a Ford Model T that was purchased new at this dealership in it’s day, and many, many years later; had been reacquired by this dealership to be put on display inside their showroom.

  • Arnold Palmer The Human Being

    October 17th, 2016

Not too long ago, I had written a post with a news article included about the death of Arnold Palmer. As of the time of the writing of this post, I am still saddened by the death of Arnold Palmer.

Arnold Palmer, Latrobe legend who reshaped golf, dies at 87

Arnold Palmer was a very kind, loving, caring, compassionate; and shrewd human being. He has been so for all his life, and he is known around the world for his astute personality by people who knew him and people who didn’t know him. Arnold Palmer has touched so many lives, leaving a positive impact on all that he had ever crossed paths with throughout his entire life. Even people that Arnold Palmer had casually acquainted with throughout his life, he has left a positive impact and a lasting memory on.

Arnold Palmer had started a foundation with a goal of promoting advances in the medical field, had founded a couple hospitals, had founded a business designing golf courses amongst his many other business ventures amid slowing down his career and playing in the PGA Champions’ Tour, owned a GM dealership carrying the Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Cadillac brands in his hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; has a garage and a storage shed full of his tractors, many of the golf clubs and golf bags that he has used throughout his career, and many decades’ worth of letters that people have written to him. And, Arnold Palmer has always been fond of Cadillac Fleetwoods and DeVilles on the frame-on-body GM B-platform.

Arnold Palmer’s arch rival, Jack Nicklaus, who is some 20 years younger than Arnold Palmer himself; also has a foundation promoting advances in the medical field in addition to being devoted to children’s health care; had founded a business designing golf courses when his professional career wound down and when he began playing in the Champions’ Tour, several of his children are involved in his golf course design business, a couple of his sons had also tried to make it into the PGA Tour themselves before they’ve discovered that they’re not cut out to play golf like how their legendary father is; and as his arch rival, Arnold Palmer has always driven Cadillac and been sponsored by the GM brand, Nicklaus himself has always driven Full-Size Lincolns and has been sponsored by the luxury car division of the Ford Motor Company, and has been fond of Full-Size Lincolns from the 1970’s to the 2000’s; including the Panther platform Continental and Town Car beginning when the Ford Motor Company had downsized their Full-Size cars in 1979.

Some time ago, I have written a post about Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Stuart Appleby, Greg Norman; and Phil Mickelson each being casted in the Arthur movie for adults playing their own selves, and their own selves in this movie playing in a golf event that takes place at a Country Club in Elmwood City, they would all be transported from their hotel to the Country Club by School Buses owned and operated by Jane Read’s place of employment (Elmwood City Public Schools), Jane and her boss drive them on buses that are only used specifically for training newly-hired drivers and never for transporting students, Jane and her boss spend the entire duration of the PGA Tour event in the clubhouse discussing amongst themselves work-related issues; CBS Sports televises this PGA Tour event, and NPVT-TV, the area’s CBS Television affiliate; feeds the coverage of this PGA Tour event to the network’s control room in New York City, who in turn; feeds it to the rest of the affiliates nationwide.

If Golfers Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Stuart Appleby Were Casted In The Arthur Movie For Adults

As I have written in this particular post about the Arthur movie for adults, Arthur and his parents, Arnold Palmer; and Jack Nicklaus each share in interest in cars like the B-platform Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and Panther platform Lincoln Town Car.

A person whose personality and mantra is totally opposite of that of Arnold Palmer’s, the evil Donald Trump; becomes a subject of the fictional media in this movie due in part to his paltry business practices, his lies and deceits, and how he had been handed down his father’s fortune and the family business on a silver platter without really earning his fame and fortune.

    The Evil Donald Trump

The evil Donald Trump, who already perniciously owns several golf courses located throughout the world; owns this Country Club in Elmwood City, and just weeks before this PGA Tour event that is televised by CBS Sports where Jane Read and her boss drive Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Stuart Appleby, Greg Norman, and Phil Mickelson on some of the buses in the School District’s fleet; is scheduled to take place, the evil Donald Trump is ordered by the court to surrender this particular Country Club and golf course to somebody else due to false business allegations; and these false pronouncements make news headlines both locally in the Elmwood City area and nationally.

It is during the coverage by the fictional news media of this scandal of the evil Donald Trump and this golf course where word of his paltry business practices, his lies and deceits; and how he had been handed his fortune and his business on a silver platter from his father Peter Trump; all get out.

Prior to NPVT-TV’s 6:00 P.M newscast for the day where the latest news about this scandal with the evil Donald Trump and this local golf course, an ID with a computerized version of the “TV-6” logo spinning into place from the outside in, and the announcer announcing: “NPVT-TV 6 Elmwood City” airs. Then the 6:00 P.M newscast of NPVT-TV begins with the Gari Communications News Series 2000  news bed (a modernized version of Lalo Schifrin’s ‘The Tar Sequence’) being played, with the announcer announcing: and now, (anchor’s name), (anchor’s name), and (meteorologist’s name with the weather). This is TV-6 Action News. The anchor begins the newscast by saying: Good evening I’m…, and then the co-anchor says and I’m… The co-anchor then says while on the air “continuing pronouncements regarding the scandal between Warbler Ridge Country Club and it’s owner, business mogul Donald Trump continue to take place in the State Court. (Reporter’s name) reports at the State Courthouse in the capital. The reporter says the court case regarding Warbler Ridge Country Club and it’s owner, businessman Donald Trump; is ongoing. State Attorney (name) has found new information regarding Mr. Trump’s past, his business practices, and finds him to be a deceptive person deep within. The jury is still deliberating, whether to allow the Country Club to remain under the ownership or Mr. Trump, or to award the ownership of the Country Club to the other party. The State Attorney, being interviewed by the reporter in front of the camera; says in front of the camera: We’ve found many scornful things regarding Mr. Trump’s business practices, scornful things regarding how he has operated this golf course, and we’re finding that Mr. Trump had really built is business by simply being handed his fortune and the company on a silver platter by his father. We think the jury will come to a conclusion within the next 3 days, but as of right now; the jury is still deliberating. The reporter then says in front of the camera: Now I’ve talked to the Assistant State Attorney, and she says that the jury is currently leaning toward awarding ownership of Warbler Ridge Country Club to the other party. As the State Attorney had already said, a final verdict will not be made for the next 3 days. Live in the capital, I’m (reporter’s name), TV-6 Action News. Back to you (anchor’s name). The anchor says in front of the camera: Thank you, (anchor’s name).

The following morning, a news story on the CBS Morning News, carried locally by NPVT-TV, the area’s CBS Television affiliate; airs regarding the court case about Warbler Ridge Country Club and it’s owner, Donald Trump.

A few days later, after the decision by the jury to award the ownership of Warbler Ridge Country Club to the other party is announced to the public by the media and to the evil Donald Trump and the other party more privately by the judge in the courtroom, the Elmwood City Evening News; owners of NPCVT-AM-FM-TV, NPVX-SW, and NPSW-SW; run an article in their newspaper-The Elmwood City News, the core business; about the smartest member of the Trump family, the Evil Donald Trump’s uncle-inventor and physicist John Trump.

Smartest Member Of The Trump Family

With the Country Club now under new and more promising ownership, the PGA Tour event where Jane Read and her boss drive Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Stuart Appleby, Greg Norman, and Phil Mickelson on the School Buses; go on as scheduled a week later.

  • ARKANSAS PLATE STILL ON: Hillary Clinton’s Olds: How much?

    October 17th, 2016

The news article that is the subject of this post is about a 1986 A-platform Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera that Hillary Clinton had once owned.

Delena Holcer-Cohrs, an old acquaintance of mine, formerly of Clyde Township, Michigan (located just outside of Port Huron, Michigan) and now lives in Olympia, Washington; had owned 3 of these A-platform Oldsmobile Cutlass Cieras that were similar to this one.

Hillary Rodham-Clinton had fallen for all of the work that General Motors’ Research & Development department had done during the development of the A-platform in the 1970’s, leading to the facts that the windshield being recessed and flushly mounted into the body like no automobile design that came before it, amongst other factors into the styling of all divisions’ cars would lead to a great significance in aerodynamics; and that front-wheel-drive, unibody cars were not only the wave of the future; but also, the unibody architecture allowed for a significant weight reduction over a frame-on-body car, that the engine being transversely mounted not only allowed for more interior room and trunk space (cargo space in terms of the A-wagons) because of the engine being turned sideways, and the transverse layout also helped contribute to more even weight above the front wheels, allowing for better side-to-side weight distribution; and the front-wheel-drive layout alone, alongside the transverse engine layout; helps the car have better traction in most circumstances for the average driver, and in some cases, also allows for better handling for the casual driver.

Although there’s no denying the fact that there is no substitution for the handling characteristics put out by a rear-wheel-drive vehicle.

Although this car has the 2.5 liter cast-iron “Tech 4” 4-cylinder engine, which had debuted in 1977 as the replacement for the problematic 2.3 liter 4-cylinder engine fabricated out of aluminum that was famous for contributing to the laundry list of problems for the Chevrolet Vega and it’s corporate siblings each had; Hillary Rodham-Clinton had fallen for this 4-cylinder engine having also been used in the Chevrolet Citation and it’s X-platform siblings, therefore; making it simple for General Motors to include this engine into the transverse-mounted layout of the A-platform; and the 2.8 liter V6 having been developed in 1979 originally for the A-platform, and was developed as a homegrown replacement intended for front-wheel-drive cars with the transverse layout for the 3.3 and 3.8 liter V6s that were modified GM Small-Block V8 and in the same 90 degree V6 engine architecture as the 4.3 liter V6 that was used in the GM X-platform as stopgaps until the 2.8 liter V6 had gone into production. The 2.8 liter V6 had evolved into the General Motors 60 degree V6 engines displaced at 3.1 and 3.4 liters.

The 2.8 liter V6 had also been used in conventional longitudinally-mounted form in the Chevrolet/GMC S-Series compact pickup trucks and SUVs before it was supplanted in these compact trucks by the 90 degree 4.3 liter V6 in 1990, AMC had used this engine in the XJ Cherokee and MJ Comanche before AMC, just before the acquisition by Chrysler; had begin to use the 4.0 liter inline-6 in the XJ and MJ, and Isuzu had also used this engine in addition to the 3.1 liter V6 that this engine had evolved into in the Isuzu Bighorn/Trooper/Holden Jackaroo, Isuzu Mu/Rodeo/Amigo/Holden Frontera; and in the Isuzu Faster/Holden Rodeo (the pickup truck was given the Rodeo name by Holden in the Oceanic market while the SUVs were given the Rodeo name by Isuzu in the North American market) (this pickup truck was simply known as just the ‘Isuzu Pickup’ in the North American market).

the General Motors 90 degree 3.3 and 3.8 liter V6 engines should not be confused with the Buick Aluminum-block 3.3 and 3.8 liter V6s, which is the V6 engine that General Motors had sold to Kaiser/Jeep in the 1960’s for use in the CJ-5 and CJ-6, is a V6 variant of the Buick/Rover V8 that the British had purchased from General Motors in 1963; and more regarding this Buick V6 engine-GM had purchased the tooling for this engine back from AMC when AMC had acquired Jeep in 1970 and had begun to use their own 3.8 and 4.2 liter inline-6 engines in place of this Buick V6, and GM couldn’t have picked a better time to repurchase the tooling for this engine, as this V6 engine was just what they needed during the advent of the 1973 oil crisis, and this V6 engine that is fabricated out of aluminum put out an amount of power equal to the 350, 454, and 455 cubic inch Small and Big Block V8s that GM had decided to swap out in favor of this V6 engine to allow their vehicles of this time to have better fuel economy while putting out the same amount of power as the V8s that this V6 engine had superseded. At the time when GM had first brought out this engine in 1961, along with it’s V8 brethren that the British had later purchased; both this V6 and the V8 engine were displaced at 3.5 liters. The displacement of this V6 engine had been increased to 3.8 liters after GM had repurchased the tooling for this engine in the 1970’s, and had been increased furthermore to 4.1 liters in 1980 for use in certain GM B-platform vehicles.

Hillary Rodham-Clinton had also fallen for Oldsmobile, which, along with Buick; had attracted the same type of consumer who was interested in buying an entry-level luxury car, was right smack dab in the middle of the hierarchy of GM’s brands, with Pontiac being just below Oldsmobile and Buick being located right above Oldsmobile but just below Cadillac being at the very top. This means that Buick was just a step below Cadillac in terms of prestige and the amount of content that Buick-branded vehicles normally came with. Nevertheless, Hillary probably fell for the amount of luxury features that Oldsmobile-branded vehicles still came with, though normally; it was never quite as much content as Buick-branded vehicles came with.

And perhaps, Hillary Rodham-Clinton was probably attracted to Oldsmobile’s slogan at this time being: “Oldsmobile Quality, Feel It”.

Below is a video of the A-platform Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera that Hillary Rodham-Clinton had once owned during the tail end of her husband’s time as Governor of Arkansas, prior to her husband’s election as the President of the United States.
