Photos of an accident of a 1984 Blue Bird All American owned and operated by the Warren Consolidated Schools school district serving the Detroit suburbs of Warren, Sterling Heights; and Troy, Michigan; was in.
This bus was powered by the Detroit Diesel 8.2 liter “Fuel Miser” Diesel Engine and the Allison MT-643 Automatic Transmission.
I would love to own my own, personal School Bus; and one of this School Bus’s relatives-a Blue Bird Wanderlodge Motorhome someday.

1960’s Blue Bird All American
Prior to the early 2000’s, the Warren Consolidated School school district’s Transportation Department had a naming and numbering system for their routes where “A” stood for Adam, “B” stood for Boy, “C” stood for Charlie, “D” stood for David, “E” stood for Edward, “H” stood for Henry; and “I” stood for Ida, although the student and directions’ list in the three-ring binders given to drivers still had the official route designation for the particular route (such as Route 14 and Route 18); which is a system they had ultimately resorted to as the method of displaying the route numbers on their fleet of School Buses in the early 2000’s.
Therefore, the sign reading “A-4” that is posted on the two-piece windshield of this 1984 Blue Bird All American means that this particular bus was assigned the route Adam 4.
The numbers “84-4” that are painted and etched on the front end cap and on the roof of this Blue Bird All American signify that this was the fourth School Bus that the Warren Consolidated Schools school district had received throughout their entire order of buses for the 1984 model year. The numbers “84-4” also signify the order in which the driver needs to park the bus on the lot of the Transportation Garage, meaning that the driver must park the bus, for instance; in between 84-3 and 84-5.
