I have personally and recently attended a screening of a movie about The Beatles where a British actor of Indian descent played a protégé of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Star; and John Lennon that is simply titled ‘Yesterday’.
First of all, I find it despicable that the storywriters and movie producers have written and produced this movie as if The Beatles and their fan base have been wiped off entirely from the Earth; and they should have also included music and other aspects of my personal favorite musical group of Paul McCartney’s, titled ‘Wings’.
Second, I also find it despicable that they have a harebrained millennial singer whose tattoos need to be removed by the name of Ed Sheeran be casted in this movie about a musical group from a better time (one of the better times than the present time) and a different generation, a generation who doesn’t seem to comprehend the musical and cultural impact The Beatles have had the entire world over.
Not only does Ed Sheeran need to have his tattoos removed, but Ed Sheeran should also be forced to listen to Adult Contemporary, Jazz, and Easy Listening music from the 1970’s, 1980’s, and the early 1990’s-including the duets that Paul McCartney had recorded with both Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder titled “Say, Say, Say”, and “Ebony and Ivory”; as well as Paul McCartney and Wings’ songs from 1976 and 1979 titled “Silly Love Songs” and “Goodnight Tonight”.
