via 2020 Chevy Corvette C8 Convertible Spied, Revealing New Details
I am very happy to hear that the Convertible version of the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette will incorporate nothing else except a retractable hardtop akin to the Mercedes-Benz Roadsters that have been produced within the past 20 years.

As you already know if you’ve been following this blog for a while, I’ve already written posts about Marie’s “Mimi” husband Stanley Smiley having worked for many years, and retired from the General Motors Tonawanda, New York engine plant.
Also, please see these earlier posts pertaining to how happy I personally am over the Corvette finally being designed and engineered with a midship layout:

Though I am not fond of General Motors applying the Blazer name to a car-based Crossover Utility Vehicle, and nor was I ever fond of GMT360 and GMT370 Midsize Truck-based SUVs; I think General Motors applying the TrailBlazer name to an extended-length B-segment CUV to compete on the current-generation Jeep Compass being on the extended length version of the Fiat Small-Wide platform that underpins the Jeep Renegade; is not a very good idea.

This auction of the final C7 Corvette to be built is in anticipation of the highly-anticipated Mid-Engine C8 Corvette.
Since the 1980’s, General motors has often on considered building a Mid-Engine Corvette; and they have finally got around to developing one this time around.

This Canadian automotive journalist doesn’t have any idea as to how awful GM’s paltry J-platform is. Nor does this journalist seem to comprehend that Volkswagen’s A platform has always been much better than GM’s J and N, Chrysler’s K; and Ford’s CT120 platforms.

This Canadian automotive journalist apparently doesn’t have any idea as to how awful GM’s front-wheel-drive H-platform is; and that the Passenger Cars that found themselves on the front-wheel-drive H-platform would be better off remaining on the frame-on-body rear wheel drive B-platform.
