The School Bus Coachbuilder Thomas began operations in 1916 as the Perley A. Thomas Car Works, and even as it discontinued it’s Streetcars and Trolleys; and concentrated on building mostly School Bus bodies, and a lesser amount of Commercial Bus bodies; it continued to do business as the Perley A. Thomas Car Works, until it had adopted it’s current name-Thomas Built Buses in 1972.
