Bun Chee Nyhuis was murdered by her Dutch-American husband, Richard Nyhuis, in response to her desire to acquire and relocate to a new home in the St. Louis area of Missouri.
Richard stressed to Bun Chee that they were unable to afford another house, and when Bun Chee begged once more for a new home and threatened to divorce Richard, take their children with her, and move to a new house on her own if he did not honor her request, Richard lost control, snapped, and murdered Bun Chee by striking her in the head with a hammer.
Richard then suffocated her while she was still alive, but unconscious and bleeding from her head. Richard then placed Bun Chee in a standalone freezer, causing her to freeze to death.
Richard shoddily buried Bun Chee’s body on the property of the S Bar F Boy Scout Camp in the St. Louis area after several months of preservation. The body was eventually discovered by a Finnish cartographer named Raimo Pitkanen, who was hired to travel to the St. Louis area from his native Finland to survey the Boy Scout Camp. Pitkanen discovered the body that had been shoddily buried on the property.
Without a shadow of a doubt is the murder of Bun Chee Nyhuis despicable.
Richard Nyhuis was ultimately charged with First-Degree murder, and would be eligible for parole after 50 years.
The murder of Bun Chee Nyhuis by her husband Richard was the subject of the Television Program “Forensic Files” titled “The Talking Skull”.
