37 Things That Make Me Happy: A Personal Reflection

  1. Living in a sizable House on acres of property
  2. Possessing a collection of Automobiles, Tractors, School Buses, Class 6-8 Trucks, Radios, and Electric Fans
  3. Acquiring brand-new vehicles as Daily Drivers
  4. Going out to eat at Restaurants
  5. Visiting, and making friends with Radio and Television Stations
  6. Visiting, and making friends with people who were a part of the NASCAR community prior to the 21st Century
  7. Possessing a Ham Radio License, Ham Radio Equipment; and maybe also belonging to one or more Ham Radio Clubs, and in part and parcel; possibly attending their meetings
  8. Listening to historically important Radio Stations, mainly heritage AM/Mediumwave Stations, High Power (50 kilowatts and greater) AM/Mediumwave Stations, Shortwave Radio Stations, FM Radio Stations whose histories can be traced back to the 1930’s and 1940’s, as APEX and early FM Stations; and FM Stations with Adult Contemporary, Easy Listening, Beautiful Music, and Jazz formats
  9. Listening to Country Music Artists who have made the Adult Contemporary charts, and/or have received airplay on Adult Contemporary-formatted Radio Stations, even if they haven’t ever made the Adult Contemporary charts; such as, Dolly Parton and several of her siblings, Reba McEntire, The Judds, Wynonna Judd’s solo career, Kenny Rogers, Charley Pride, Trisha Yearwood, Lorrie Morgan, Eddie Rabbitt, Loretta Lynn and her sister Crystal Gale, Johnny Cash’s daughter Roseanne, Barbara Mandrell, Connie Smith, Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Rich, and the Band “Alabama”
  10. Writing and publishing Books
  11. Having one or more Motion Pictures (whether Live-Action or Animated) of my creation; being made
  12. Taking still Photographs with a standalone Film or Digital Camera
  13. Being close to, and associating with my father’s family
  14. Keeping the history of the 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s alive forevermore, for generations to come; no matter the cost and sacrifice, and no matter how hard I have to work in order to do so
  15. Being politically active within the Democratic Party of the United States
  16. Keeping Far Right-Wing Politicians such as the malevolent Donald Trump, J.D Vance, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, and Ron DeSantis out of Office
  17. Befriending, and associating with people who were born prior to 1975
  18. Shopping at Sears, Montgomery Ward, Costco, BJ’s and the Warehouse Club chain PACE
  19. Traveling to Destinations that interest me, and/or have anything to do with me emotionally; that might not interest anyone else within my household
  20. Having Central Air Conditioning and Heating, with the Thermostat set at particular temperatures; even if they are not energy efficent
  21. Switching the Thermostat to the ‘Off’ position whenever I, or anyone else in my household wants to open Windows in our House; instead of turning the Air Conditioner to a higher temperature, and the Furnace to a lower temperature
  22. Using a Whole House Fan whenever the Windows are open in our House
  23. Investing in the Stock Market
  24. Traveling in and with a Motorhome, or a One-Ton Dual-Rear-Wheel Pickup Truck and a Fifth-Wheel RV Trailer
  25. Owning, and driving in American Full-Size Passenger Cars, Full-Size Station Wagons, Full-Size Pickup Trucks, Full-Size SUVs, and Full-Size Vans
  26. Owning and driving in 1960’s-mid 1980’s Rear-Wheel-Drive, Body-On-Frame Intermediate-sized Cars and Coupe Utilities such as the Chevrolet El Camino, Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Pontiac Tempest/Le Mans, Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Buick Century, and Buick Regal
