An Example Of What I Consider To Be The Best Generation Of Accord That The Honda Motor Company Had Ever Designed And Built, Conceived Before Honda Had Divided Up The Accord Into Three Completely Different Versions For The North American, Japanese Domestic Market, Southeast Asian, And Australasian Markets; The CD3/4/5/6/7/9.
The BA8/9, and the BB1-BB4 Preludes that are based off the CD3/4/5/6/7/9 Accord were not a bad generation of Prelude.
For as much as I dislike Car-based Minivans (including those that foreign automakers have designed specifically for the North American market), and I understand that Honda Engineer Kunimichi Odagaki had to work covertly to develop the RA1-5 Odyssey; as Japan was going through a recession during the early 1990’s as a result of the Japanese Asset Price Bubble, and Honda wanted to completely shelve the development of a Compact Van or a Minivan as a result of them cutting back their corporate spending, and feeling that a Compact Van or a Minivan wasn’t worth any money or effort developing and putting into production; but I personally feel that Honda would have been better off producing a Compact Van utilizing the Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) versions of the F Engine that were used in the Prelude, the versions of the H Engine that were also used in the Prelude, and the C27A4 V6 Engine that was used in the CE6 Accord; instead of developing the Compact MPV that is nothing more than a CD3/4/5/6/7/9 Accord Estate/Station Wagon with a taller profile and a hastily developed and shoehorned Third Row Seat that resulted in the conception of the RA1-5 Odyssey.
