I am deeply saddened by the death of Actress Dame Maggie Smith, CH, DBE.

Maggie Smith was a magnificent Actress on both Stage and Screen; and a morally decent human being.

Additionally, Maggie Smith was a couple weeks younger than her friend and contemporary, fellow Actress Dame Judi Dench. Maggie Smith and Judi Dench were born a couple weeks apart in December, 1934.

Maggie Smith is the mother to Actors Christopher Larkin (nee Stephens), and Toby Stephens.
