An article on another Blog by House of Romanov historian Paul Gilbert about Tsar Nicholas II attending a Consecration of Monument of his father, Tsar Alexander III; that was held in Moscow in 1912.
Sadly, following the Russian Revolution of 1917, a decree by the new Soviet government had been issued in April, 1918; dictating that monuments of members of the Romanov family be replaced by those honoring revolutionaries of the Russian Revolution that had taken place in the Autumn/Fall of the prior year.
