I am very saddened by the death of CBS News Correspondent Charles Osgood.

Charles Osgood, an Anchor for CBS’s Newsbreaks, and a correspondent for CBS Radio News for the longest time; had succeeded Charles Kuralt as the Host of CBS News Sunday Morning (which had debuted on January 18. 1979; just three weeks prior to CBS Sports airing its groundbreaking, flag-to-flag coverage of this year’s Daytona 500, on February 18, 1979) upon Charles Kuralt’s retirement in 1994.
