Sportscaster Marv Albert during his time at WHN-AM when it was owned and operated by Storer Broadcasting/Storer Communications; and WNBC-AM before NBC had sold most of their owned and operated Radio Stations to Emmis Communications in 1987.
This was, of course; before NBC had acquired the Television Rights to the NBA from CBS in 1989, effective beginning with the 1990-1991 season; and NBC Sports would use Marv Albert for NBC’s Television coverage of the NBA during the entirety of the 1990’s, and during the early 2000’s, up until ABC Sports and ESPN would grab the Television rights for the NBA from NBC, effective beginning with the 2002-2003 season.
To work at WNBC-AM, Marv Albert simply had to take the Elevator within NBC’s Headquarters and Production Facilities located at 30 Rockefeller Plaza from whichever Floor of Rockefeller Plaza NBC Sports was located, to the 7th and 8th Floors of Rockefeller Plaza where WNBC-AM and WYNY-FM (nee WNBC-FM) were located.
