I am sad over the death of Weather (Cable) Channel employee Jeannetta Jones, whose actual name is Jeannetta Jones Daniel.
The Weather (Cable) Channel was put on the air in 1982 by the owner of Landmark Communications, the Virginian-Pilot Newspaper that serves the Hampton Roads area, the WTAR Radio Stations, and until 1981; WTAR-TV (now WTKR-TV), Frank Batten.
It is not known if this is actually true, but I am speculating that maybe, perhaps; Frank Batten and his company Landmark Communications had used the funds raised by the sale of WTKR-TV/WTAR-TV to Knight-Ridder to put the Weather (Cable) Channel on the air.
Jeannetta Jones had suffered through a car accident that had left her disabled, and forcibly ending her 20 year career at The Weather Channel that had lasted from 1986-2006.
Jeanetta Jones had passed away in August, 2021; succumbing to the SARS V-2/COVID-19/Coronavirus before any vaccines for the Coronavirus were tested, and available to be inoculated into the general public.
