Last, Matt Hagan should be thoughtful, and not cavalier about Radio and Television Broadcasts that had taken place the year he was born-1982, and the prior year; 1981, rather than focus on the here and now, and contemporary technologies such as Audio and Video Streaming, Podcasts, Smart Cellular Telephones, Tablets, and Social Media.
Case in point: This Aircheck of one of the last two AM Radio Stations in the United States to operate on a Time Sharing agreement, WIBW-AM in Topeka, Kansas; and an AM Radio Station owned and operated by Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas; KSAC-AM. This Time Sharing agreement between WIBW-AM and KSAC-AM had lasted from 1929, up until Kansas State University had halted operations of KSAC-AM (by this time, KKSU-AM) in November, 2002.

Cumulus Media selling WDRQ-FM (nee WJBK-FM) to Family Life Radio for $10 Million Dollars. Family Life Radio, will in turn; convert the license of WDRQ-FM from a Commercial to a Religious license, and Family Life Radio will also change the format of WDRQ-FM to having a Religious format.
WDRQ-FM was put on the air by Storer Broadcasting, and was originally WJBK-FM, simulcasting 1500 WJBK-AM, Storer then changed the Call Letters of their AM and FM Radio Stations in Detroit to WDEE-AM-FM in 1969, Storer sold off WDEE-AM in 1970 while remaining for another year at Storer’s then brand-new Radio and Television Studios dubbed “Storer Place” located at 16550 West Nine Mile Road in the Detroit suburb of Southfield, Michigan; Storer sold off WDEE-FM in 1971 to Bartell Broadcasting, Bartell changed the Call Letters of WDEE-FM to WDRQ-FM, Bartell, in the beginning; had installed a Talk Radio format at WDRQ-FM before changing the format to Top 40/Current Hit Radio patterned after Bartell’s other Top 40-formatted Stations KCBQ-AM in San Diego and WOKY-AM in Milwaukee; that had seriously challenged CKLW-AM, and was able to fabricate Playlists and Programming that were not saddled with Canadian Content Regulations; for a year from 1979-1980, had an All-Disco format, had returned to the Mainstream Top 40 format a year later in 1980, had switched to an Urban Contemporary format in 1982 in response to increasing competition from WLLZ-FM, WJLB-FM, and WJR-FM having recently changed its Call Letters to WHYT-FM and its format to Mike Joseph’s “Hot Hits” Top 40 format, Bartell had sold WDRQ-FM to the Amaturo Radio Group in early 1985, Amaturo had changed the Call Letters to WLTI-FM and the format to Transtar Satellite Network’s ‘Format 41′ Easy Listening format (aimed at audiences who were born in the 1930’s and early 1940’s, who were in their 40’s and early 50’s at this time); ABC in 1995 (by this time, had merged with Capital Cities Communications, would soon be bought out by the Walt Disney Company, and had already sold off ABC’s heritage Radio Stations WXYZ-AM/WXYT-AM and WXYZ-FM/WRIF-FM by this time), would move its studios into the Fisher Building near the older General Motors Headquarters Building in the Detroit city proper, and would join Capital Cities’ Radio Stations that ABC had inherited upon the merger between the two companies; WJR-AM and WJR-FM (by this time, WPLT-FM), ABC Radio would change the Call Letters back to WDRQ-FM in August, 1996; and in the interim, change the format to a Dance Music format.
By January, 1997; what is again WDRQ-FM slowly began to segue to a Mainstream Top 40 format, and by April, 1999; the transition to the Mainstream Top 40 format was complete.
In April, 2005; WDRQ-FM (nee WJBK-FM) changed to what was in the 2000’s, the hottest Radio format, and what many FM Radio Stations felt compelled to change their formats to, the format dubbed “We Play Anything” (Male Given Name) format, particularly a hybrid Adult Hits-Classic Rock-Hot Adult Contemporary format. In this case, WDRQ-FM (nee WJBK-FM) had adopted the moniker “93.1 Doug FM” when it took this hybrid Adult Hits-Classic Rock-Hot Adult Contemporary format in April, 2005.
Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company and ABC; and who was a Television man, and not a Radio man, did not view Radio as having much of a lucrative future by the time he assumed the position of CEO as both the Walt Disney Company and ABC in 2005. As a result, ABC sold its non-Radio Disney and non-ESPN Radio properties to Citadel Broadcasting in 2007.
Citadel had merged with Cumulus Media in September, 2011; resulting in many of the former ABC/Capital Cities Radio Stations falling into the ownership of Cumulus Media.
In November, 2013; WDRQ-FM had returned to the Country format for the first time since the early 1970’s, this time around; transmitting locally Cumulus’s prepackaged Satellite-based “Nash FM” Country music format.
As of the time of writing this post, WJBK-FM/WDRQ-FM will soon be changing to a Religious format.
From its sign on in 1948, up until some time during the 1980’s, WJBK-FM/WDRQ-FM had transmitted its signal from whichever same Transmitter Site WJBK-TV had transmitted its signal from, beginning at the Transmitter Site located at 8009 Lyndon Street in the Detroit city proper (this Transmitter Site would later be taken over by WBFG-FM/WLLZ-FM/WDZH-FM in

The Tower/Mast that was originally slated for use by WJBK-FM is still standing (as of the time of writing this post).

Besides Amateur/Ham Radio, and Commercial Broadcast Radio and Television being one of my passions, another one of my passions are the minor, rare cultures of the world; such as the Frisian language and culture of Northern Europe, the Catalan, Basque, and Galician cultures and languages of Iberia and places in the New World that Spain and Portugal have colonized (such as, for instance; Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil) that have followed the Spanish and Portuguese languages and cultures to these places within the New World; the minority ethnic groups throughout Russia such as the Kalmyks, Buryats, Tuvans, Bashkirs, and Koryaks; and the minority ethnic groups throughout China such as the Uighurs, and the Yugurs, in addition to the Hui, Wa, Achang, Hakka, Jino, Monpa, Nu, Yi, Bai, Fuyu Kyrgyz, Ngái, Yao, Jingpo, Oroqen, Kucong, Dai, and the Jalaid peoples.
I’ve even published a version of my Book about the Stock Market that has been translated into the Standard Frisian language. Versions of my Book about the Stock Market translated into the North Frisian and West Frisian languages may come into fruition at some point in time in the future.
From late 1983 up until this shootout between several FBI Agents and the suspects in this particular FBI Case, William Russell Matix and Michael Lee Platt; that had taken place in April, 1986; both William Russell Matix and Michael Lee Platt have been involved in several murders (by the way of both stabbing their victims with a knife, and shooting their victims with a gun), Armored Truck Robberies, and Bank Robberies; including both men murdering their own wives. Matix had stabbed his wife in the neck, and Platt’s wife had died by a suspected suicide by the way of a single shotgun blast to her mouth.
At 8:45 A.M (a quarter to 9:00 A.M) Eastern Standard Time, while spotting a G-Platform Chevrolet Monte Carlo that matched the suspect’s vehicle description, on a hunch; FBI Agent Gordon McNeil began to slowly follow this Chevrolet Monte Carlo, while advising whilst communicating on the Two-Way Radio with other Agents to catch up to Gordon McNeill, and in due time; the other agents did catch up to Gordon McNeil; and the suspects William Matix and Russell Platt driving the stolen Monte Carlo.
William Matix and Russell Platt had stolen the Monte Carlo from a local of the Miami area named Jose Calazo, who earlier; had reported the Car stolen.
The Agents’ reason for following slowly behind the Chevrolet Monte Carlo, is to try to avoid a potential shootout, and to avoid putting the public at risk of being in the crosshairs of an Automobile accident and/or a shootout.
As the convoy of FBI Agents continue to tailgate Matix and Platt in the stolen Monte Carlo, the Agents eventually decide that they have been patient long enough, they begin to shout out through loudspeakers by the way of windows being open in their Government-issued Cars to pull over, Matix and Platt ignore the order, a couple of the Agents in their Government-issued Car begin to box them in, and the other Agents merge in front of the Monte Carlo, and attempt a Traffic Stop.
Several of the Agents working this case even thought that William Matix even looked like a basic, Western United States bad guy, with a handlebar mustache; and determined to evade the authorities no matter the cost and the consequences.
The agents witness through the windows of the Monte Carlo Matix, Platt, and a third man who was riding along with them in the Monte Carlo; appearing to grab weapons; and then, the Agents’ worst fear happens in front of the home located at 2201 Southwest 82nd Avenue; Platt and Matix begin to shoot one of their stolen guns at the Agents in the Car next to them.
Platt, Matix, and the Agents slam on their brakes in the Cars they are driving in front of the home located at 2201 Southwest 82nd Avenue, and the shootout begins to take place.
Below is the home located at 2201 Southwest 82nd Avenue, where the Shootout had taken place in front of:
Platt and Matix, both veterans of the United States Armed Forces, and having received Military-style tactical weapons training; shoot the Agents using the Military-style tactical training they have received while training and actually serving in the Military; being to shoot until the last of the enemies have been killed.
Platt and Matix’s stolen revolvers and Machine Guns had overpowered the Agents’ Government-issued weapons. As a result, Platt, Matix, and the third accomplice had the upper hand with regards to the shootout, and the Agents attempting to place each of these three men into submission.
William Matix and Michael Platt both decided that they are not going to be arrested alive. In other words, both men have decided that they were going down, out, and were going to take as many of the agents with them as possible to places such as Heaven and Hell, an Afterlife, and an Alternate Universe.
One of the Agents had experienced his testicles within his groin area being shot at, resulting in his testicles exploding like a balloon, and him having to be neutered similarly to how a Pet Animal is fixed; while recovering in the Hospital from all of his gunshot wounds.
In the end, after a grueling five minute shootout in front of the House located at2201 Southwest 82nd Avenue; two Agents were killed from gunshot wounds, five more agents were wounded and injured, and the others managed to emerge from this shootout unscathed.
The two Agents who were killed in the line of duty during this shootout were Jerry Dove and Ben Grogan. Jerry Dove had worked for the FBI for 4 years as of the time of his end of watch; and Ben Grogan had worked for the FBI for 25 years, and was preparing to retire the following year as of the time of his end of watch.
In 2001, a Memorial in the form of Historic Area Sign, and a circular shrub have been planted across the street from the House located at in what was then a part of the Miami city proper, and is now the separate City and Miami suburb of Pinecrest, Florida; honoring fallen FBI Agents Jerry Dove and Ben Grogan, who were killed in this shootout.
As a result of this shootout, from that point forward, not only have the FBI and many Police Agencies across the United States switched from Revolvers to Semi-Automatic Guns as the weapon of choice to be issued to personnel, but also; Military-style Tactical weaponry training is now taught at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia; in addition to standard Law Enforcement-style weaponry training, so that the suspects are less likely to overpower the Agents going forward.
On a more personal note, one can wonder what Bob Vila had thought of this shootout that took place in the vicinity of his native Miami, and what one of his siblings who has continuously resided in the Miami area throughout her adulthood, Theresa Vila-Lopez; had thought about this shootout.
Additionally, one can also wonder what Bob Vila and his sister Theresa Vila-Lopez had thought about the terror and fear these suspects and the eventual shootout have caused throughout the Miami area.
Also, one can wonder what Gloria Estefan had thought of this shootout that took place in the vicinity of her native Miami area; and the terror and fear that these suspects and the eventual shootout have caused throughout the Miami area.
This FBI Case was the subject of a Made For Television Movie that was networked on NBC on November 27, 1988 (a few days after Thanksgiving Day, 1988) titled “In the Line of Duty: The FBI Murders” starring Michael Gross as William Matix, and David Soul as Michael Platt.
Moreover, this FBI Case was also the subject of the successful Television Program produced by the Suffolk, Virginia (a suburb of Norfolk, Virginia) based Production Company New Dominion Pictures titled “The FBI Files”, specifically the Episode titled “Firefight”.
Sadly, Gordon McNeill; a morally decent, shrewd, astute, and intellectual person; would pass away in 2004.
Richard Manauzzi, Edmundo “Ed” Mireles Jr., Ronald Risner, Gilbert Orrantia, and John Hanlon are also morally decent, shrewd, astute, and intellectual people.
A Chevrolet or GMC-branded GMT400 Pickup Truck in the Half-Ton, Regular Cab, 8 Foot Bed configuration with the lower-band two-tone paint scheme located in the Town of Middlesboro, Kentucky (located near the Kentucky-Tennessee-Virginia border).
Sadly, this Truck is in rough shape, this Truck is missing its front grille and headlights; and the paint appears to be peeling.
A Split-Level Home with a bevy of Outbuildings on what appears to be a quarter of an acre of property located in the Town of Christiansburg, Virginia (a Town located near the West Virginia-Virginia border).
One of these Outbuildings appears to be a conventional, stick-field built building, and the other appears to be a prefabricated metal building.
There also appears to be a Radio Tower located very near this House and Property.

A House in the Raised Ranch architectural style with a Semi-Detached 2-Car Garage located in the Town of Gilboa, West Virginia.
There appears to be a Caterpillar Diesel Engine placed right outside the Semi-Detached 2-Car Garage of this House located in the Town of Gilboa, West Virginia.
The homeowners have probably removed the Caterpillar Diesel Engine out of a Class 8 Truck that they had parked on their property, and appear to leave this Caterpillar Diesel Engine out in the weather and the elements to decay and disintegrate.

British-based vehicle coachbuilder Glenfrome, which converted 2-Door Range Rovers into 4-Door units before Rover/Land Rover began to build 4-Door Range Range Rovers at the factory in Solihull beginning in 1981, likewise to Centurion Conversions In White Pigeon, Michigan converting U150 Full-Size Ford Broncos into Suburban and International Harvester/Navistar Travelall-type vehicles for sale in the United States and less so in Canada, akin to the Conversion Suburbans of the 1980’s and 1990’s (as Centurion’s core business was being a Van Converter for Ford Econoline Cargo Vans) before Ford began to build the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion from the factory beginning in late 1996 at the start of the 1997 model year.
Glenfrome also produced extended-length Range Rovers with a greater amount of rear overhang (akin to many Full-Size American Station Wagons/Estate Cars, the Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, and the International Harvester/Navistar Travelall), and also; Range Rover Limousines with multiple doors, and even Range Rover Hearses with Medium and High Roofs.
A House in the Cape Cod architectural style with an Enclosed Porch/Two-Season Sunroom and a detached Carport located in the Town of Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia (on the mouth of the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers, near the Ohio-West Virginia border).
This House is located near U.S Route 35, a route known in Ohio prior to 1926 as SR-11, before the adoption of the U.S Route Highway System that same year.
U.S Route 35’s Northern Terminus is in Michigan City, Indiana; in the Michiana area of Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. U.S Route 35’s Southern Terminus is in the Town of Teays Valley, West Virginia (located not too far away from the Ohio-West Virginia and the Kentucky-West Virginia borders).
