I am very saddened by the recent death (as of the time of writing this post) of Brazilian Musical Artist Astrud Gilberto, known mostly for recording the famous Bossa Nova song “The Girl From Ipanema”

I never cared for Astrud Gilberto’s song “The Girl From Ipanema”, but I do like a lot of Astrud Gilberto’s other songs.

Overall, I am a fan of Astrud Gilberto’s music.

Astrud Gilberto was of mixed Portuguese and German descent, having been born to a mother who was a Portuguese-Brazilian, and a father who was a Brazilian of German descent.
