I am not happy that Peter Mansbridge, who; in 1988-had succeeded the late Knowlton Nash as anchor of CBC’s Evening News program that has been titled ‘The National’ since 1969 and was titled ‘The National News’ from 1954-1969; had wrapped up his 30 year-long tenure as anchor of the National in July, 2017, and is now limited to his interview television program that he has hosted and CBC News has produced since it’s inception in 1999 titled “Mansbridge One on One”.
As I have a fondness for New Zealanders, Australians, Canadians, South Africans, whites in India; and whites in Pakistan who are of English, Scottish; and Welsh descent; and the main reason for my keen interest in the Commonwealth nations being the ties these nations still have to the British monarchy; and also because of the vast majority of the population in these countries being of English, Scottish, and Welsh descent; I have a particular fondness for Peter Mansbridge because of him having been born in England, having moved with his family to Canada at the age of 3; and having become a naturalized Canadian somewhere along the way whilst holding dual citizenship for both Canada and the mother country-Great Britain.
It also matters to me as to which one of Wendy Mesley’s ancestors had immigrated to Canada from England, which one of Linden MacIntyre’s ancestors had immigrated to Canada from Scotland; and which one of Adrienne Arsenault’s ancestors had immigrated to Canada from France.
