When WCZY-FM was a better radio station before Dick Purtan had ever arrived there, and before WCZY-FM/WKQI-FM had taken a Top 40 format beginning in late 1983; and had ultimately adopted the morbid “Z95.5” slogan in late 1984.
I started my broadcast career back in 1973, and have watched as our great industry was fucked up by the FCC (federal Communication Commission) whose members took bribes by big companies to do away with regulations and make a big grab to own most TV and Radio Stations in the country. (shown here at my first gig doing evenings at independent country station WZND-FM in Zeeland Michigan) Sorry for the swear words, but I am very passionate on this subject.
