I am happy that the Ford Motor Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary in Ireland, and that the great-grandson of Henry Ford and the Executive Chairman of the Ford Motor Company-William Clay Ford Jr. will be visiting Ireland to take part in the festivities put on by the company in celebration of the 100th anniversary of their presence in Ireland; and also to visit the Ford ancestral home in Cork, Ballinascarthy County.
The plant in Cork, Ireland; along with the plant in Dagenham, England and later in Basildon, England is where Ford had manufactured their tractors until the 1970’s, when tractor manufacturing began to take place solely in Basildon at this time.
