A 1977-1989 Blue Bird All American with the GM 427 Cubic Inch Gasoline V8 engine and the 4-light system.

I am not sure as to which transmission this bus has.

From the late 1960’s up until 1989, the Warren Consolidated Schools school district serving Warren, Michigan; Sterling Heights, Michigan; and Troy, Michigan had purchased many of these with the GM 427 Cubic Inch V8 until 1982, and then the Detroit Diesel 8.2 ‘Fuel Miser’ starting in 1982, and with the 4-light system up until 1987 when they began to specify their buses with the 8-light system.

The GM 427 Cubic Inch V8 as used in a Medium-Duty truck was dangerous to use because gasoline would normally leak from the carburetor into the air filer; and would cause the engine to catch on fire.
