This particular one has the 429 cubic inch Gasoline V8 engine that’s part of the 385 engine architecture that also include the 370 and 460 cubic inch Gasoline V8 engines.
The Ford L-Series, part of Ford’s Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck division that they had sold off to Daimler and to Freightliner to become Sterling in 1996; was produced from 1970 up until 1995, when the Ford Louisville Series had replaced the L-Series.
The Louisville Series was what was included in the sale of Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck division that they had sold off to Daimler and to Freightliner; and would live on in Daimler’s hands as the Sterling Acterra.
