Another character in the Arthur movie for adults that hasn’t been talked about until now, in this post; is Barney Wrexham, the head bus mechanic at Arthur’s mother’s place of employment who also races Full-Sized Midget cars as a hobby.

Occasionally, Barney Wrexham finds himself racing alongside Howard & Jolene’s 4 sons, and Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer during the acts they have in this movie.

Another one of the mechanics at Arthur’s mother’s workplace races Quarter Midgets, which are downsized Midget cars that are a cross between a go-kart and a Full-Sized Midget car.

A Quarter Midget is the next step up from racing go-karts, and was a step that many NASCAR and Indy Car racers took during their paths to becoming professional race car drivers.

Barney Wrexham is based on a man who was Jeannette Wesolowski’s head mechanic by the name of Chris, who raced vehicles as a hobby during his off-time. Chris’s son (who was in his mid-20’s at the time I knew them) had worked for a NAPA auto parts store.
