Public Surplus: Auction #1494775

A Thomas conventional style School Bus on the International chassis & cowl with the blue-painted interior and blue seats.

Customers (school districts) always have a choice of gray, brown, green; or blue-painted interiors when it comes to purchasing a School Bus. Customers also have a choice of gray, brown, blue, red; or green seats when it comes to purchasing a School Bus.

The colors of the seats and the color the interior is painted do not have to match and it’s always been that way. For example: a customer could order their bus with a blue-painted interior with red seats or a green-painted interior with brown seats.

Up until the late-1990’s the brown-painted interior and brown seats have been the standard and most common interior and seat color choices in Blue Bird and Ward/AmTran School Buses. The green-painted interior and gray seats were the standard and most common interior and seat color choices in Thomas School Buses. The green-painted interior and green seats were also the standard and most common interior and seat color choice in Carpenter School Buses before they went out of business in 2001. Starting in the late-1990’s and continuing to this very day, the gray-painted interior and gray seats have been the standard and most common interior and seat color choice in the 3 School Bus body manufacturers remaining in business (Blue Bird, Thomas, and Ward/AmTran/IC Corporation).

When Wayne was still in business,  brown-painted interior and brown seats have been the standard and most common interior and seat color choice; and when Superior was still in business, green-painted interior and green seats were the standard and most common interior and seat color choice.
